I am looking for an animated horror short film I saw as a kid. Not remembering the title sadly.
It might have been part of recurring show, however, if so, the stories were independent of each other.
The film must have been in the 1980ies at least and probably earlier.
What I remember:
Set approximately in Victorian England. A Man stays at an inn, together with two other men and a women, all upper-class. The two other men at least had blueish skin, possibly the woman, too. One of them, the better dressed, tried to kill the hero with his small sword/rapier, but of course the hero won and killed him and the other man. The woman then explained the backstory, involving something supernatural I do not quite remember. During her explanation, the corpses of the men lie in the foreground, first turning into skeletons, than to dust.
The man and the woman try to make their getaway in the coach, while ghostly riders draw near. The woman boars the coach and asks the man a couple of promises (love-related). The man drives the coach, but the ghostly hunters overtake them. He falls of the coach, which disappears, as do the rider and the lady, of who only a small piece of cloth of handkerchief remains behind, which the man grabs and pines after her.
If I remember correctly, the story had a "framing device", that is, it was told in an inn by some elderly man to the other patrons, though I could mix things up here.
The drawing style was not "cartoonish", striving for a realitic look, I would say about like the 1971 animated Christmal Carol or the Famous Clasic Tales series, if anyone rememebrs that.
