Yeah, I get Yahtzee's and the rest of the Escapist community's sentiments on how sequels ruin game franchises and all that jazz. But you have to admit, there has to be at least one game that desperately needs a continuation in your book.
My three top choices:
1. Homeworld: Probably the greatest strategy game series in my mind, and one of my top 5 favorite all around games. I rate it as one of the greatest strategy games since it doesn't entirely rely on godlike micro-managing skills in order to be good at (so I at least have a fighting chance in multiplayer, as opposed to the, in fairness, excellent Starcraft and Warcraft series where I could look foward to be fucked in the ass by burly men ala Penny Arcade: http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2002/7/26/) In addition, the singe-player is a simply awe-inspring experience. The storyline is genuinely touching and the Middle-Eastern soundtrack is truly addictive, boosted by subperb sound design. With the name in the hands of THQ who happen to own Relic, I'm aching to see if those guys would continue the chronicles of Karan S'jet and the Hiigarans.
2. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: As a Fallout purist, I'll admit that while Fallout 3 is a good game, it isn't an actual "Fallout" game. Case in point, probably the only modern example of the original developers, "Black Isles Studios'" pedigree lies in "Bloodlines." The signature attention to well-written dialogue and copious amounts of black humour (admittedly, I could care less for the actual combat of those old turn-based RPGs, it was the dialogue of the first two Fallout games that made me fall in love with the series).
3. Half-Life 2- Episode 3: Well actually, Valve is most likely already making this game, But hell, its Valve. The Four Horsemen may have already have started their fiery ride before they've even come close to play-testing it to an optimum level.
