Why do we not just tolerate them, but the people who enable them? The fact that we keep enabling and rewarding these people is the more disgusting thing than people existing.

Don't know what you mean by "we". I have not touched DSP since 2012 and never looked back. LTG, I've seen some clips of him either losing, being embarrassed, humiliated, or called out on his asshole attitude. I never heard of WoR, and I will not watch any videos of his, because he's not worth the time. I avoid any of these dicks, bitches, and assholes on principle alone. I won't even touch compilation vids of them being humiliated or rightfully called out for being foolish.

They're not worth the effort. Most people see them as jokes. I know DSP still has some supporters that barely keep him afloat, but he has nowhere near the amount of followers and subscribers like he did back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. No one takes LTG seriously, and the FGC consider him a complete joke. Stop worrying about these assholes. I don't watch them for a good and sensible reason. Saves a lot on the sanity too.

It might be me, but I noticed a change in social perception around this time. It might have started with the Weakest Link, but when House became Popular, becoming a bombastically caustic individual was synonymous with being smart. It wasn't enough that you knew the answer, you had to belittle the individual in order to show how truly smart you are.

That's always been a part of culture, of course. But it was looked down upon before. Now, it's celebrated. You now must look down on everyone as beneath you. And even if you don't know the answer, just tear everyone down so people can believe you're smart. Or they will be afraid to call you out on it so you don't get torn down as well.

It's deteriorated to the point that you don't even have to be smart at all any more. In fact, it's now frowned upon to be smart or an 'intellectual'. Just tear everyone down. Complain. Be scathing. Just bully everyone into submission so you are never challenged, therefore you can never be wrong.

It's tolerated by some because some people actually feel that way. And there are furthermore people who just love a trashfire and want to see it burn. It doesn't matter that their mere presence just heaps more fuel on the fire. Or hell, it's even a feature because they get more cringe.

Those people keep it going. But I wouldn't say all of the FGC tolerates them. I feel like a lot of the FGC would ban them if they could. But banning people who we just don't like isn't the way things should be done. You can very well ignore them, but people need to do something to be banned. And being asses isn't something enough.

Get away with what? I get it, DSP is someone who should not belong any where and had relations with a girl that was way too young. He was an emotionally abusive dick, and she had the right sense to leave his ass, but we're lucky it never got any worse. He's a shitty human being and most people will remember him as such. You have some people that sympathize, pity him, or love trolling him, because they feed off of his misery and toxicity. They don't make up all of us. Let them waste their lives. They will learn or regret at some point.

LTG is loser no ones likes or respects. While he is not close to the scumbaggery that is DSP, the wannabe don't have the clout he thinks he does.

Focus more on yourself and those you care for @AnxietyProne. While is important to watch out for assholes and those that cause serious trouble, don't make it an obsession. Especially on those that don't have much power like they assume they do or have.
