So I am a female gamer and I am proud to be so! But I feel so patronized by this... As if women need the big strong fist of political correctness defending us at all times because we can't deal with the big bad world, also Why just sexism specifically? Why not Homophobia? All of this talk of sexism being everywhere in games gets me frustrated. Iv probably upset some people by saying this but it does really frustrate me, if a random 13 year old tells me to get in the kitchen hes within his rights to do so but I am also within my rights to call him a little *****.

Something else I came up with while writing this... If I tell a random man that he thinks with his dick will that get me banned?

...I doubt it. Although only time will tell how well they moderate it, so if you're a bit of a masochist you might still get the opportunity to be made fun of.

Honestly, I think adding the shadow of a hint of consequence and accountability for how you act in online gaming is a good thing. But I do agree, targeting sexism specifically is a bit odd, when all sorts of harassment ought to be. Hopefully, the scope is a bit wider than it sounds.

If i remember correctly, technical all forms of harassment are ban worthy, they are just publicizing the sexism part as it is better press and generates more buzz than saying that harassment is a bannable offense

Eh the problem is that some players have been harassed repeatedly... if I'm understanding the problem. It happens with enough frequency that players just don't want to have to put up with shit anymore.

there's only so many times you can tell guys to go fuck themselves before your sick of it. They either lose players or just nip the problem in the bud

Well this may just be my experience but compared to the amount of homophobia and racism on xbox live sexism seems trivial. I personally have not had much problem with it though whenever it does happen its always some little kid.

Afraid there's already a thread on this, though interestingly enough the female posters seemed to see this change as a positive thing from what i saw.

Regarding sexism, its been kinda the hot topic lately. Lara croft "rape" controversy, boothbabes, hitmen trailer with nun assassins were all massive topics in last month or so.

As for your last comment, that definitly won't get you banned xP Heck its not even an insult really in my eyes, its an expression that happens to involve references to genitalia which makes it crude at best, but not same thing as "****** homo" or "gb2 kitchen" both of which are intended to insult/denigrate. If someone is thinking with their dick then its perfectly ok to say as such.
