So I just beat Shadow of War and I had a good time. Spoilers from here on out I guess, but once the game ends Talion is dead and Celebrimbor is out there somewhere. At this point in time the DLC's have not come out yet and I don't know what will happen from there but assuming they probably won't add much, what might a sequel look like? I'll admit right out the gate my ideas likely won't happen but the more imaginative the better I say.
An idea I had, seeing as we're throwing continuity out the window is that we could see an Orc main character (like I said before, likely won't happen.) After Mordor falls, the orcs are on the major last leg and the plot may revolve around their survival and depending on how it goes, their growth as a species. The main character may have been an Uruk, perhaps one that operated in Barad-dur as a jailer or torturer, and was somewhat versed or simply effected by the dark magics inside. Once he dies, Celebrimbor's form is drawn inside the corpse and the two live again. The overall theme of the game would be coming back from the brink and growing beyond their dark history.
As for game play improvements, it would allow for new unit types to be added like Haradrim, Corsairs, Goblins and/or even a Black Numenorean or two since at this point they would all be around the same place and mostly dead. "Warfare" could be more scaled back till the end when you've managed to unite all the survivors, and even then it could be a lot of infiltration missions and small scale open field skirmishes. Enemies of course would be uruks and ologs but since humans may be somewhat resistant to your existence Rohirim and Gondorians may not be out of place either.
Lastly the main villain should be someone who represents everything the main character grows to fight against, so maybe just an Uruk or Olog who survived Mordor's fall and wants to continue fighting as a warlord or something. Maybe a large, intimidating, evil, brutal and clever one who is everything one from Mordor would strive to be like, making the fight for the future of their people represented symbolically and physically.
Anyway, that's just one pitch but what I really want to hear are your pitches, what would you like to see? Would a prequel set in the first or second age be better? Let's get creative!
