Shadowgate Series: Thoughts, memories, or even questions about wth it is?

When I was younger, I really enjoyed Adventure games. None were quite as enjoyable to me as the breed of rare console adventure games called Shadowgate.

To my knowledge, the whole mythos is made up of an NES game, some remakes of said game for various computers, another remake for the Gameboy Color, and a sort-of-sequel for the N64. As the title suggests, thoughts, reminiscence, and questions are all welcome.

i never could get past the first few areas in the gb version.

The thing is, even more than most adventure games, it was necessary to know exactly what you had to do at each given point. The fact that you had to keep a torch lit in real time at all times didn't help matters. I still loved it, though.
