I had plans to play the first version of Tsukihime, but then I saw the publishers have plans to make a remake.
So I just wanted to know if there is a problem to start playing Fate first then Tsukihime.
Thank you.

They have something in common?

Serious question here. I played Tsukihime all the way through and started Fate/stay night but I never felt like they were related in some way.

Did I miss something? Or is that something you only understand after seeing the animu?

I knew these game share the same setting, but never knew if there are important both to understand the whole story in general.
Thank you for your telling me. I appreciate it.

Tsukihime is in the same universe but you can play them in any order. Minor similarities are all you will notice.

No you don't have to.
Even though the share the same universe the plot won't cross each others main story. Some characters do crossover albeit most often off-screen.

like for example,
Kara no Kyoukai has character named Aozaki Touko, who has a sister named Aozaki Aoko. Aoko is the mentor of Shiki Tohno is Tsukihime. And in one route of Fate/Stay Night Touko is mentioned.
Aozaki Aoko has her own VN, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru.

Having played both of them will surely be a good experience and you'll have enough reference for other type-moon games/stories.

One thing for sure, it really made "Carnival Phantasm" WAY more funnier than I expected, to the point that I can hardly take any characters from both series seriously now. Lol

No need to read Tsukihime first, as others have said they share a universe and that's mostly it. I read Tsukihime first and it didn't add anything to Fate and personally whilst they are both awesome Fate is better.

Have fun waiting until 2030 to read the Tsukihime remake.
I thought there was plans to get it licensed when it gets released

Isn't the other way around?
First they get the license, then make the game. Am I missing something?

Do you mean "localised"? If so then I'm not sure, but considering it's been almost 9 years since the remake was announced and we've had pretty much nothing but concept art since then I'm not holding my breath for a release anytime soon.

Yeah that's what I meant

And they are probably too focus on making phone games and FSN stuff in general.

Not likely, at least Type-Moon's involvement isn't supposed to be "Full Hands on" on these projects

"Making Phone Games"
Nah, they're not making new phone games, They already have Fate/Grand Order and it's developed by Delight Works, while sometimes Nasu writes the script.

"FSN Stuff"
Last one is Fate/Extella, and it's already done. Developed mostly by Marvelous.
Heaven's Feel Movie is being made majorly by Ufotable, Type Moon is only credited as Original Source.

IMO, Type Moon is just siting their ass on the Tsukihime Remake, much like Half Life 3 for Valve.
Remember "Girl's Work"? Yeah, it was never released even after saying it was changed from a VN to an anime. But that was back in 2008, after 9 years there's no update on it.
