When your leveling up perks do you have a specific play style or character concept in mind? Concept builds encouraged. Share any thoughts on skills and leveling, ask questions, comment on other peoples builds, and most importantly POST YOUR OWN!

I found a talent calculator on IGN:

The URLs can get pretty long but you can use TinyURL for simplicities sake:

Here is my plan for a Bosmer Thief character. He is more or less a ranger; wielding a bow, dual swords, and trained in alchemy. He uses diplomacy to work out the best solution so the intimidate perk in speech is unnecessary. I went for unbreakable lock-picks instead of easier master locks so I could (1) only have to carry a single pick and (2) have master locks still be a challenge.

I started off with a dunmer battlemage but that failed completely. My second character was a redguard 2 hander who specialized in hammers and light armor. I eventually transitioned into a sneaky build (which resulted in the most nonsensical infiltrations ever imagined. he basically stalks up behind people, taps them on the shoulder and hammer-smash-faces them when they turn around). I learned a lot from the mistakes I made with that character, wasted perks and such, so I refined him with my current character. Basically the same deal but Dunmer instead of redguard. On my dunmer, I took the time-slow block perk which helps immensely in melee. Instead of selecting any alteration and archery perks, as I had with my redguard, I invested in enchanting (my redguard had the smithing down but not the enchanting... it was late in that character's build before I realized that, when combined, the two wreak all kinds of awesome on Skyrim). So yeah... the guy I'm most fond of is a sneaky dunmer 2-handed warrior.

Orc that specializes in battleaxes and heavy armor.
I maxed out most of the 2 handed tree, and a lot of the heavy armor tree. I also have the entire smithing/most of the enchanting brances done and both of those are at 100.
I have full dragon plate armor and a daedric battleaxe.

Talent calculator wasn't working so....

Khajiit stealth/archer dude with a side job of smithing. I basically focused exclusively on my archery and sneaking perks until I had those both at around level 75, then I moved onto the light armor perks until that was 70 or so. Then I went onto a Smithing grind so I could get my full set of Dragonscale armor.

At the moment my Archery and Stealth are both nearing 100 so I've started to mix it up with One-Handed just for varity as well as the fact that I was getting bored taking potshots at Dragons and oneshotting everything else from the shadows so I've taken to occasionally breaking out Dragonsbane in one hand and a Soul Trap/Flame Damage enchanted Blades katana in the other hand, both upgraded to Legendary along with all my armor.

Khajiit specializing in Destruction and Conjuration.

Focusing most level ups on Magika, my apparel is all enchanted to give me the lowest cost to Destruction magic I can get, except for my Shrouded Boots/Gloves. I also have the x15 damage with sneak backstabs using daggers, and so another 2x damage with the gloves along with boots that muffle my footsteps are very useful.

My Conjuration is almost strictly for distraction purposes. Sure, the Frost or Flame Atrinochs I have now can inflict okay damage, but I never make the mistake of relying on them lest they die and leave me to a horde of disgruntled enemies. I blast enemies with magic while my Atrinochs and follower keep them distracted.

I am playing a Bosmer with high Archery levels, so yeah, I'm not the most creative person out there. But I'm Enchanting everything I can, in my quest to create the Ultimate Badass Bow of Bows. Right now, at level 24, I'm using a glass bow with additional fire damage (affectionally named "Hot Piece of Glass"), with two armor items enchanted to give me 40% more damage. Of course, I'm also developing my Smithing to craft ever more items to be enchanted.

I'm also investing heavily in magic, using some basic Destruction spells when things get close and personal and Restorating the hell out of my health when it gets low.

Summary: Bosmer with a knack for Enchanting and soon-to-be godlike Archery skills, with a side of Destruction for when things get rough. And my healing skills have led me to slightly modify a popular saying: "Whatever doesn't kill me makes my Restoration stronger".

So this is what I am playing for. After I get this the left over points will go into whatever seems fun at the time.

Me thinks I'll be a Stealthy Glass Cannon.

Ranger/Assassin Khajiit.

Started off using bows, mixed it up with some blades, threw in some smithing for the Dragonscale armour, tossed in some Restoration for the stamina recovery, added pickpocketing for coin.

It became rather easy... then I realised I was playing on Novice for the experience of the game.

Going to start over again, this time mixing posions into the fray on a harder difficulty.
