What features are people hoping to see in this game?

I have to say, I'm really looking forward to a more personalised general.
Also, I hope they keep the out of city resources in the provinces, I thought that was a really interesting dynamic (though if this new 'Zen' approach is anything to go by, I think I may be disappointed on this front).

Nope, you are in luck. You still build farms, mines, town buildings etc. in the province itself, not the city.

And if you liked that, you'll love the new resources. They've expanded the list from just Horses, Gold etc. a lot, and made them more important. So now you'll want to start protecting the valuable commodities that aren't all inside your enormous castle, and are vulnerable to raiding parties.

OT : List is too long to type. I'm a Total War nut, and keep up with the daily updates, meaning I got a whole lot of information stashed away in the "hype" part of my brain.

I'm looking forward to the return of the family tree, and the new RPG-like progression of special units.

One of Empire's greatest mistakes, in my opinion, was its removal of the family tree and the player's control over the faction's dynasty. My favourite part of Medieval 2 and Rome was carefully managing the lineage of my faction, grooming my future leader for greatness from an early age, getting the best traits and ancillaries (and using mods that added new ones), etc. I'm a RPG gamer at heart, so that part of the game was like a game unto itself for me.

Shogun 2 not only looks to be adding this back, but also looks to be enhancing it.

A working AI is all I want.
Horrendously bad AI was the main reason Empire and Napoleon failed.

One thing I'd like to see return is the throne room. Adds a lot of immersion. Especially the advisor.
