Any good short RPGs out there? By short I mean around 10 hoursish.

I pretty much only play multiplayer games as I get bored of fighting AI and prefer playing with people, I do however enjoy RPGs/single player games but just get bored very quickly.

Any good short single player game recommendations would be appreciated, but I'm feeling like an RPG. Just want to finish a game for once, instead of adding it to my huge pile of unfinished games.

Edit: Wrong forum, wonderful school boy error there. Cheers for the move.

Barkley: shut Up and jam: gaiden(chapter 1 of the Hoopz barkley SaGa).

imagine your average RPG, only your character never make it past level 12 or so, even by the time you fight the final boss.

I give it about... 9 to 12 hours worth of gameplay.

very humourous, though if you don't find the story funny (as i didn't), its utterly Heartbreaking.

win-win. try it out.

I know this, but I have about 7 that are half finished and I don't want to go back to them in the middle, so I'd start again and then get bored halfway again. Would just like to finish something.

What consoles do you have access to? And how good is your PC?
PC is my main gaming system, but I have a DS and PS2.

But if it's a short game I can easily borrow a console so it really doesn't matter.

Good enough, I hear the persona series are fucking AWESOME, and you can get it for the PS2. Also, for the DS Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is fun, also Chrono Trigger if you've never played it before.

For the PC you can try Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls 3 or 4 (Morrowind and Oblivion), also Dragon Age, but that really depends on what kind of games you like.

Most short RPG's tend to have a main quest of about 20 hours, unless you really rush through them. Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, Final Fantasy X, both Lunar games, Xenosaga, Wild Arms, the Grandia games, Valkyrie Profile (in easy mode, the difficulty levels only effect how long the game is, not how hard), and original Arc of the Lad, can all be beaten in under 20 hours, and can be consider shorter RPG games around. If you've never played Chrono Trigger, then that probably has to be my number one recommendation.

For really short RPG's, under 10 hours, the only games I can think of are Pokemon games. It'll take a lot longer to catch them all, but these are probably the shortest RPG's around worth playing, and let you play multiplayer and not the AI.

I like that we both said this at the same time.

Really it just goes to show you, if you only play one RPG in your life make it Chrono Trigger.

If you can handle old graphics, try out the first fallout. It's bloody terrific and it can be finished within 4 or 5 hours if you ignore the side quests. The only other thing I can think of is Mass Effect 1, the main quest is short, about 7 hours long.

Sadly (sort of), it's one of the few I've already completed.

Got all of these on my to finish pile, except Fallout 3 which I did complete. Waiting for GOTY edition of New Vegas though so I don't have to faff about with DLC.

Think I'll look into Persona though, a few people have mentioned it's good and I don't even know what it is.

Persona 3, FES, and 4 are all dungeon crawlers RPG's where one can summon a wide variety of personas in battle, and a sort of dating sim style mini-game outside of the dungeon effects your affinity with different types of personas.

Persona 4 probably the shortest of the series, the story revolving around a serial killer and jumping into TV's to see universes based on brains of individuals. Persona:FES is actually Persona 3 + the following year of events with the same characters, which finishes the story. All the games last one calendar year of in-game time, where you have to follow character doing real life events, like going to class and taking mid-term exams in-between dungeon crawling monster fighting.

You want a short RPG? Try Desktop Dungeons. Typical playthroughs last anywhere from 10 minutes to half an hour, depending on how careful you are. Just about any computer that runs Windows 95 and up can play the game (and probably older units as well). Best of all, it's free!

If you just power through the main quest, Torchlight isn't that lengthy of a game. It's in many ways a spiritual successor of Diablo, so expect lots of dungeon crawling and loot collecting.

If you have a 360 or PS3 then NieR will do you good. If you don't do any side quests, you can get the game finished in about 20 hours.
But you should at least do NG+ as well, which puts you about halfway through the game. So NieR is around 30 hours.

If you have a DS, The World Ends With You. I beat it in two days, and it's about 30 hours as well for one playthrough.

Most RPGs pride themselves in being long, if you want short, go with the DS since game companies are forced to cut their games shorter on the handhelds.

I recommend The World Ends with You, nice short rpg on the DS, can be beaten fast if you make no effort to do the extras.

Desktop Dungeon is a RPG, sort of. It's a free downloadable PC game. Each gameplay session lasts...Maybe about five minutes?
