I am not organising a rumor I have read this in a interview with Kojima(sp?) maybe he was just saying that to start up a rumor but then again look at FF13 which I thought would never come to the 360 did come so I suggest you do not presume such things without a moment of thought but then again I may be wrong and If so what does it matter to you.

Coming from the prospective of someone with a 360, I wish I got a Ps3 instead. It's just more stressful playing a game when at any moment I could scratch your disk or fail on you. I can't get extra stuff and %100 games because the extra time I spend looking for stuff might cause the 360 to overheat. I get worried every time there's a longer loading time then I think there should be. I have to limit my saves because every time I save I run the risk of destroying the hard drive. I can't pick it up and take it anywhere because anything more than breathing on it could break it. All the games I buy are going to useless 5 years from now when most of the 360's are broken and Microsoft has started manufacturing their next consul, I won't be able to play the games.

My game cube stopped working with three games, one of which I fixed a minute later. I must have played at least 30 games on it. (I buy used games) On the 360 it happened 2 times and I'm not even at 25 games yet.

Bulletinmybrain,

Angry much? Will it kill you if it gets ported? No.. you've (on your PS3, and me on mine) already had your time with it. I don't see why you should stomp your feet up and down demanding that someone buy specific hardware, or deny possibilities with the kinds of threats you've written here.

Is it because of the pure cost of the console? Along the lines of "I paid X amount more than that /other/ console, only to have the same software I bought it for ported?"

I'd rather the software be enjoyed by all, rather than limited to one console because of a bought of greed you know.

----

I've had problems with my PS3 just the same. Just different ones. Namely with audio stuffs. Even using RCA jacks I end up with a lot of distortion on specific titles.

Heh, glad to see your patience has already run out.
You snapped at the third or fourth of these kind of threads?
Everyone's answer is going to boil down to either Yes, No or "Maybe if you think it's right for you I don't really know what you like maybe you should make a decision for yourself?" in which case it's much faster to just give him a straightforward answer.

It should've gone like this, in an ideal world:
OP: Should I buy a 360?
Me: Yes.
OP: K.
*heads off to games website of his choice to place his order.*

Everyone's happy.

He's probably already decided to get one anyway.

Imo I have to say yes, I love playing games on my 360 and it's got a lot of choice for whatever type of game you like to play.

I have a friend with a 360, and even though he's had a couple of RRoD, each time he's been able to get it replaced quickly, and under warranty, so it's no great loss. Overall, there are more, and better (IMO), games on the 360 than the PS3, so unless you specifically prefer the PS3 exclusives and/or want BluRay and/or prefer the controllers, I'd go with the 360.

360 seems to have all the good games, so yea, its definitely worth the 200$ :).
$200 only if you want the 360, a controller, and NOTHING ELSE.
Compare it with the PS3's $400
To get a 360 with all the stuff a PS3 has standard, you're looking at about $600.
And this figure comes from...where, exactly?
PS3 fanboy math.

Hi everyone. I'm new and I've got a quick question. Should I get an xbox 360? I've been a nintendo boy for a long time now, but the Wii isn't doing it for me anymore. Yes, the games are fun, but I need something to sink my teeth into, something new! So why not a different console?

So which one should I get and what games can you recommend? What is the "red ring of death"? And is there backwards capability? Does the console really break down often? Nothing seems to give me a straight answer...

Thanks in advance!
Chris
The Arcade is $200 and can save, hold arcade games, music and house the Next Xbox Experience(http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/nxe/ the avatars are optional) with its 256MB memory card but can not rip the games directly to the hard drive nor realistically store videos.

The regular one ($299) has a 60GB and can do above and store videos and games (games storing involves ripping the 3-7GB on the disc to the hard drive for faster loading and the disc drive will not spin after start up witch is required to confirm that you own the game).

The Elite has 120GB and is $399. Unless you ripping a bunch of games or going to download lots of movies its hard to recommend.

The Red Ring of Death is when 3 red lights appear on the ring of light (power button). There is a 3 year warranty on all Xbox 360 consoles and numbers are sketchy. Generally it seems that one made as of Fall 2007 have a 10% of getting it.

Back-ward compatibility is good but not great. Games like Halo,Halo 2, and KOTOR work fine and now they you can download some xbox originals from Xbox Live but its a small list.

If your looking for what games are on Xbox 360: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/?WT.svl=nav

Now you also could have gotten this infomation through google or going to xbox.com or using search button. This thread has been done to death.

I'm going to be plain and simple, it is strictly your choice. no system is superior, it comes down purely to what you want out of your console. If you elaborate on what you specifically want I can try to help you but just look up the games library for each and make a decision.

The games, very long list of stuff, but due to your first question I guess you don't watch much tv. Well there is Halo 3, Bioshock, Fable 2, Dead Space, Fall Out 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Soulcalibur 4, Lost Odyssey, just to name a few.

As for the red rings of death, those are the rings that appear around the power switch on the 360 to indicate that you 360 will no longer be working and you have to get a new one. I am pretty sure that you just send it back to Microsoft and get it "fixed" and shipped back to you, but have to warn you it might take a while.

Anything made by Nintendo has backward capability, that and the early PS3. The 360 has some, a very little some, backward cap.s but with all the games out for it now it is kind of pointless.

And to answer your final question, um I haven't really noticed it breaking down all that much with my friends.

As someone who bought a 360 very recently I can definately say it's worth getting. I was a big nintendo fan untill this generation so had no prior bias one way or the other when it came to picking the 360 or PS3. For me it came down two things; firstly price, the 60GB 360 is £100 (160USD) cheaper than the PS3. Secondly the exclusives, personally I much prefered the prospect of Halo, Mass Effect, Gears and Fable to the alternative of MGS and Resistance.

It all comes down to taste in the end. The decision is much less of a gamble in this generation as market share for each system is likely to stay roughly equal and the vast majority of games are released on both systems.

Except the 80GB PS3 has no backward compatibility and is $400. The 20GB is now 60GB and the "Entry" is now $80 cheaper, premium and elite $50 cheaper and HD-DVD is now $20.

As an owner of all three consoles, I'll tell you I spend more time wondering "when is it coming back from repairs?" than actually playing it. Don't do it.
