So I've been playing Uncharted 3 again (fantastic game as ever) and on this second playthrough I've noticed a lot of foreshadowing towards a tragic end. The game centers around Drake & Sully's relationship as well as Drake's obsession and how he disregards the safety of others.
There are numerous scenes where people call Drake out on his recklessness, one memorable one is in Yemen where Elena asks Drake to take care of Sully saying "He'd go to the ends of the Earth for you, but please don't make him."
Towards the end of the game Sully is "killed" by the secondary antagonist Talbot (yes, spelled same as the clothing store) in the end it turns out just to be a halucination by Drake, but I've started wondering, should Sully have really died? The whole game builds up to the fact that Nate's obsession with treasure hunting, and pretending to be a descendent of Drake, will lead to consequences. That what he considers just playing the hero is legitimatly dangerous to those he cares for, and up until Sully's revealed survival I thought it was a brilliant narrative and deconstruction of Drake as a character.
So what are your thought's Escapists?
