Okay, so my quest of gathering private and personal information about The Escapist community continues.

This topic is about your knickers.​

Specifically, what kind of underwear do you prefer to wear?

Additionally or alternatively, what kind of underwear do you appreciate most on a partner?

Do you prefer comfort, practicality or aesthetics?

Briefs, boxers, boxer briefs, thongs, granny pants, g-strings, spanx, hipsters, boy-shorts, cotton pants, silk pants, rubber pants... The list of unmentionables is endless (yes, I am aware that my list just ended).

I know this thread is equally as silly as my last one. One might say that it is, in fact, pants. [sub][sub]Nailed it.[/sub][/sub]

For me, I tend to stick to hipster, bikini cut and thongs. The latter of these has become a less popular choice as I move through my twenties as I have noticed myself opting for slightly larger pants. I assume that this is due to my advancement in age and that the growing size of my knickers does in fact directly correlate with an increase in my maturity and wisdom.

I also have a back-up supply of boy-shorts and slightly larger underwear for when I haven't been arsed to do my laundry and some nice things for special occasions.


On men, I prefer boxers or boxer briefs. I'm not a fan of massively loose boxers but I don't tend to like the look of teeny tiny briefs either, I appreciate a nice middle-ground.

As a warning, if anyone feels the need to use the American word for female underwear, know that I will frown at you in a judging manner. You know the word, it starts with pant, ends in "eees" and I can't say it without cringing. XD

Comfort, then practicality. Aesthetics isn't something that concerns me.

Plain white briefs, thank you. I accidentally bought a pack of boxer-briefs once, and since I hate wasting things (or returning things to the store) I tried them on- they just bunch up SO MUCH. Not to mention that it's just more fabric covering up my skin, and I put out so much body heat that any unnecessary layers just overheat me. (And I can't even imagine the appeal of boxers. I prefer support.)

When I'm feeling "frisky", I tend to view panties [small](Ha! I said it!)[/small] as a temporary obstacle more than anything. Beyond that, I just prefer that they be clean and comfy for her, y'know?

Yes, and in that order. It's not like I go showing them off to all and sundry, so what do I care about looks? I prefer a comfortable wrapper for my package.

I wear boxers, most of them seem to be plaid of varying colors minus one pair with snowmen on it. I like them becuase they're really comfortable. I'm really weird about things touching my skin whether it be clothes or people, so the "tighter but not tight" (looser but not loose) boxers tend to be the most comfortable things to wear, which is massively important.

In fact, whenever I'm in my room at the end of the day I usually just hang out in my boxers and a t-shirt.

On women? No preference really... Clean?

Boxers or boxer briefs. They're not too tight, comfy, and don't look silly!
And I usually like to wear solid colors like black or slightly lighter shades of black.
I do have a few pairs with prints and stuff on them though.

On my partners I actually like them wearing male boxers or something comfy and practical.
Why would I care about what they look like? Not like they'd be staying on and in my sight for very long anyway xD

Female here, and I essentially wear granny panties. Specifically these guys right here, Warners brand underwear, style 5738.

They're a nylon and elastic mix, which means they breathe MUCH more than cotton and stay nice and stretched over my bum, meaning I never get wedgies and they never gather and chafe in places. And since they go up higher than hipsters they stay right where they're supposed to and never slide down throughout the day. They aren't stylish or frilly, but they don't wedge or chafe and they last FOREVER.

Boxers - plain, but colours are fine if they're not too garish. I'd like to try boxer-briefs one day, but I'm just waiting for the right moment. For anyone else, I guess I don't really have a preference. I've always just thought they can wear whatever they feel is comfortable. :/

maybe this is slightly odd but...

I like to wear guys underwear to bed....the body fitting kind with the, thick elastic, slight leg and the pouch/access window (forgot the actual term) I like the way it looks, (even if the crotch pouch is...unfilled) most of the ones I have are black with bright colored elastic

hell I'd wear it all the time if I could but I wear skirts for work ...plus I wonder If its visible through my jeans

other than that I like the female variation of that (boy shorts/boy leg?), thick elastic ect, or just standard basic kind
