Appearently it will come out in 2019.

Ugh. Shrek 2 was the only good one, Shrek 1 has not aged well in terms of jokes, Shrek 3 was a dissipointment, and Shrek "The Final Chapter" (Or Forever After) was just crap.

And its gonna be really interesting to bring out a Shrek movie post "Shrek is Love/Shrek is Life" internet culture.

What pisses me off is if a Warcraft movie sequal does happen people will now compare the CG Orcs to Shrek more often now :p

Fuck you Shrek, you ruined all portrayals of Greenskin humanoids like Orcs, Trolls, Ogres, and Goblins.

OK that went completely off topic so anyway what do you guys think will this be they fuck it up again or will they finally recapture the awesomeness of Shrek 2.

Whoah man, you're kind of all over the place.

First of all, Shrek is based on a book that featured a green ogre, so you might as well leave the green orc comparison at the door, considering that in addition to Warcraft, green orcs feature in Hex, Warhammer, Orcs and Men, and no doubt other medias as well. Also...no. Just no. I don't think anyone saw the green orcs of Warcraft and thought of a CGI film that is based on sattire of fairy-tale tropes.

Secondly, this is old news. Speaking personally, I like the first two films, didn't see #3, and while #4 was lacklustre, it did feel like an overall conclusion to the series. I will say that the need for a sequel is more from Universal than DreamWorks. But still, was anyone asking for this?

Guess it ain't ogre till it's ogre, and it ain't ogre apparently.

I do find it funny that Shrek became everything it made fun of. It torn apart Disney formula and the nail in the coffin for 2-d animated and "proved" that 3-d was the only way to go but all they did was made a new status quo and became just as formulaic and could be said to do even more damage to animations uniqueness than Disney and that a lot of people grown to hate. Shrek is an asshole who made fun of old people all his live who's now in the old folks him.

First one was good, second one was better, there were no more after that. If there were no Shrek movies after 2 then how can there be a 5th movie hmmm? Explain that! Therefore this does not exist. Why are we even here.

Fitting that a series with 2 and a half good films gets a fifth instalment. Dreamworks just wants balance.

What are you all on about? The first one was good, second was meh, and the rest were terrible. This is Terminator 3 all over again.

Thank you, I miss 2D Tradinitonal Animation so much.

And the Shrek formula is arguably worse than the last one.

I honestly didn't mind all of them or the character so much, in fact I kinda like Shrek's whole character arc.

Like first he's lonely, then he finds love, he gets his happily ever after... and then the next movies are about him dealing with the day after the Happily ever after.

I don't know why everyone hates the 3rd Movie so much. I thought it was a very good movie. Not Shrek 2 good, but just as good as (or maybe better then) the original Shrek. I do agree that the 4th one was just the worst with an insane plot that ignored so many characters, a rushed feel over the whole thing and generally a really toned down experience from the other 3.

I can't imagine a Shrek 5 being any good. Nor do I think Mike Myers will want to come back to doing it, considering he's pretty much retired after the disastrous The Love Guru.

Yeah...just, yeah.

I'm sorry, but when you go the Time Travel/Alternate Timeline path in your series, you are officially out of ideas. At least the first three movies--all of which I enjoyed, but realized 3 was where they should stop--had some reason for existing. The first was a fun joke movie. Second, "The Princess married an Ogre, so how's that going to work out after the happy ending when reality sets in?" question that should be answered, and the third was just kind of a cash grab. But the forth? Never should have happened.
You are becoming Ice Age, Shrek. Don't become Ice Age.

Ugh really? You gonna shove in another WoW stuff? Even then you forgot Hulk, another green humanoid! Also yeah, Shrek was actually based on the book but I have no idea if the books even contain that many sequels?

Overall, I don't really cared anymore. I LOVED the first one, second was ok and the rest was just meh.

Even Hulk in his 2003 movie was compared to Shrek, and I thought his design in that movie was ok and never once did it cross my mind that he looked like Shrek and he still does not.

We usually try to forget that as well. I hear good enough things about Shrek 4. That said, I have but one question:
