Yahtzee...
Worshipped by all of us for his comedic approach to what is, as often as not, a paid endorsement*.
I was wondering how many people here start using the phrases, and terms from Yahtzee's reviews in everyday life, and if anybody finds it offensive that you speak like that?
Is Zero Punctuation slipping into your reality?

I, for example often hear IT students on campus use the term "Pants-On-Head Retarded" when they have to provide assistance anyone who 'broke' windows, or "Indigo Prophecy syndrome" when Windows crashes for no apparent reason.

*By paid endorsement I meant other magazines and sites, not The Escapist.

Me and my friend are fans of his and often use phrases he coins in private or as an inside joke between us because no one else but us watch it where I'm from. None come to mind at the moment though because its 2 am and anything more then watching videos and snacking would probably make my head explode.

I occasionally quote Yahtzee when speaking with others who know of him, just for a few laughs, but I don't use any of his phrases in everyday conversations.

It does annoy me when people do, however, since it shows a lack of originality on their part. If you're going to insult something, don't insult yourself by just copying what someone else came up with.

I swear I heard "pants-on-head-retarded" before I heard Yahtzee utter it. Though I did start using it myself after I heard Yahtzee use it. It's just an absolutely perfect way to describe some people.

If I cant think of a better description, I might quote him. Otherwise I go out of my way to avoid quoting him.

I've always used long winding metaphors in my speech but as of late I'm being accused of sounding like Yahtzee. Being English doesn't help either.

You should realize though that Yahtzee sounds like Charlie Brooker, who in turn sounds a lot like Douglas Adams, who in turn sounds like...

Well, a few things have become pretty well known with people who watch him, but personally, I don't really quote Yahtzee.

If you think it's bad now, try making video reviews.

Heh. I was thinking of doing some. Could you help me pick out a nice hat?

I find that whenever I encounter a character in movies or TV that I think's really cool, I unconsciously start to emulate them while talking. So as well as using Yahtzeeisms in day-to-day speech, I enjoy ranting Doctor Cox-style with a tinge of hick-speak (a mark left from Firefly).

Poor, poor nilcypher.

I use too quote Yahtzee with friends who had seen the reviews but I don't do that anymore because there are so many episodes and I have forgotten what he has said.

De-Rez on the other hand, well nothing is cooler that introducing yourself by saying "I'm Jack Thompson *glares*".

Sometimes I'll bring up a Yahtzee quote in conversation. I'm in luck, too, since none of my friends really know about him or watch his reviews regularly-- they think I'm clever.

When I hear someone quoting Yahtzee, I immediately think "Yay, another Eacapist!" and we soon become sound friends.

I believe that non-viewers would consider it offensive, but viewers relate. I find myself quoting him at times, mainly the "pencil scene", to those sheltered people who haven't played Psychonauts.

That's how I see it.

I tend not to quote him, but occasionally if I am playing a game he has reviewed a quote or two pops into my head and it stays there.

None of my friends know yahtzee so when I quote him they usually just start laughing hard. I don't usually quote him to a t, usually just make my own metaphors and long rants and add his style of fast speak to make it sound better

I bought a hat like his and I say Muh-moh-puh-ger (MMORPG) but that's the extent of my Yahtzee-isms. I do quote him when I'm joking around with friends who watch him, however.

"Caleopidgeon Superman" is a Yatzee term that worked its way into the Bestman's speech at a friends wedding.
