I am an only child. I never really thought about it, but while playing the Sims 3 today, I realized I wish I had a sister. So to you only children, do you wish you had brothers/sisters? To those WITH siblings, do you wish you had none, or more, or are you happy where you are, family-wise?

I'm pretty happy where I am although being the youngest when I was a kid was a pain in the ass. When you're the youngest it is pretty much everyones mission to make sure you are more miserable than they are. If you don't get in trouble because, I don't know, maybe you don't actually mouth off at every opportunity than you're obviously the favorite. If your brother is hauling logs at 10 then you better be hauling logs at 8 years old.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my family now that we're all older and we can just hang out without wanting to kill eachother

I have a sister who is 12 years older than me. I am now 19. She was always like a second, less bossy mom. Our relationship has been one of both mutual love and friendship. I don't want another sibling, I've got all my sibling needs handled :D

I would rather not have siblings. I have one brother and if he was a drug dealing, money wasting failure I might of enjoyed having a brother. Not to mention I have the pressure to be the good kid and not have any failures while not having any of the benefits my brother had since they admitted they wasted all their money on him. He was living in an apartment my parents were paying for him til he had a mental breakdown and moved back home, and now I want to move out and my parents tell me I shouldn't since I'm a lazy fuck who can't get a "real" job (because my current one doesn't count) and will end up failing, moving back home like him and just wasted all the money I've been saving. /rant

I wouldn't have minded an older brother who would whack me upside the head to stop me thinking like a doofus all the time.

However, I already have a late brother... and I am constantly reminded that had he survived, I would not have been conceived...

I love being an only child.

I never had to share, ALL OF THE TOYS WERE MINE!

Anyway, I used to think it'd be nice to have a brother/sister as a play thing but I'm perfectly content with the way things turned out.

I have a sister who's 3 years younger than me, and I'm glad I do. However, I'm pretty sure everyone who has siblings has at one point wished they didn't. Unless there's something like a 15+ year age difference, because at that point, the older one is probably grown out of the stupid kid phase. (I was a stupid kid too, just like everyone else. I'm not trying to insult anyone.)

I also think that people who are the only child of the family have a higher risk of being a bit of a jerk, until they grow up at least. That's not a guarantee, of course. It's just that if you have siblings who are about the same age as you, you've likely had to share everything right from the start and your parents probably haven't spoiled you as much as they could have.

I have two brothers (I am 20, they are 22 and 27), and it's great. My 22 years old brother was "best friend"ish for most of my life.

I am really glad to have brothers. Talked to some old teachers from school and they complained how children today always want to be treated like "princes and princesses" because they don't have siblings and are used to it from home.

(People in Germany basically stopped having children, so many young people don't have siblings any more ^.^)
