So, this morning I woke up with a bad stomach ache and was very thirsty. A bit after guzzling some water, I went to the bathroom and threw it all back up (along with whatever else was in there). After cleaning myself and the bucket up, I retreated to my room and wrapped myself up in a blanket, which got me thinking about what I do when I get this sick, which is typically spend the day in my pjs, on the couch, wrapped in a blanket (used to be the afghan my Nana made for me, but I don't have that anymore sadly), watching movies, and eating up saltines and ginger ale.

Then I got wondering some more: what do my fellow Escapists do when they get sick?

I'm actually on the verge of pneumonia right now (don't worry, medicine is helping).

I basically sit on the couch with a blanket, chug water and 7up, watch whatever crappy movies are on, spend time posting here, and take more drugs than Motley Crue.

Lie in bed, or on the couch wrapped in a blanket watching television or sleeping.

If I'm feeling slightly better, but still not well enough to go to work I'll switch between the above and maybe some reading/playing games/checking the interwebs.

I haven't been sick enough to miss a day of education or work since I was 13, so soldier on like normal I guess.

Anyways, it depends on sickness:
If it's nothing that serious like leaking nose and coughing, I'm very happy that I get to stay home and get paid like 80% of my salary. Lying under blanket on a couch playing games.
But if it's those real sick days, I curl into a ball and hope I die. >.>

Curl up on the sofa making it known to anyone in earshot how ill I am in the hope of some sympathy.

MY wife usually tells me to shut up.

Nothing much. I have sweated out every disease I ever got by lying in front of the TV and playing games. On a nostalgia note, I used to read a bunch of Asterix comics late at night as a kid whenever I had fever or something like that. It's a little tradition I've more or less carried over.

I don't get sick all that often, but when I do it's pretty bad.

So when that happens I wrap myself in a blanket and pray for the sweet release of death and beg anyone that's in ear shot, normally my dog, to kill me.

Usually I use the time to have film or gaming marathons. Having free reign on the tv for a day is the perfect time for a Lord of the Rings marathon.

Depends how ill I am... for the most part, I'll do like I'm OK and still go to work or whatever and hope I don't completely fuck up.

If I'm really ill and laid up at home, I'll watch DVD's & anime until I'm better, then start gaming until I'm even better, then see if I can be bothered to go into work tomorrow... -_-

I usually stay in bed and don't move until someone eventually decides that maybe it would be an idea to check if I'm actually still alive or need anything, which is usually three days later. I used to get up and dressed when I was sick and solider on, but then I always seemed to get sent on errands when I did that. My family are just such a caring bunch :p

I usually just lie down and sleep. I also end up walking all over the house as I can't stay still 90% of the time. And eat, I'll always eat something to regain some energy.

Depend on the sickness that I got. I never really had an illness that I had to stay in bed, just like feeling dizzy or feeling weak. Either way I just treat that day like any other day like watching tv and playing games (this was back in High School when I suppose to be in class so it somewhat feel great missing it out althought I had to catch up afterward).

Ginger ale, soup and a show I'm watching. Also all the lights need to be turned off and everyone in earshot needs to hear how sick I am. I'm kinda selfish that way.

I wrap myself up as much as possible after medicating myself and attempt to sleep off whatever I have. While awake I try to sweat it out while playing some games or, watching netflix. Anybody else find that gaming while sick makes the symptoms go away? I'm lucky enough to not get sick too often but this is because I'm almost always exhibiting some Cold symptom or other (sniffling, the odd cough, etc) and allergies always kick my ass...

Whenever I get sick I MILK THE SHIT OUT OF IT LIKE A CHAMPION!

I've had tonsillitis over 20 times in my life and I still have them, because I choose to have them! More tonsillitis = More sick days which I can relax and then catch up on work later.

I'm terrible -.-

I sit on the couch under a blanket, playing video games, eating and drinking basically nothing because I lose my appite when I'm sick.
The last time I was really ill I was vomitting several times a day for about a week, if I ate or not. So I decide eating something ment that less bile would come up and just ate whatever was available and then it came back out 30 mins later. I have no idea what was wrong with me.

I usually don't get ill, but when I do it's always the ones that make you lose all balance, appetite and capacity for rational thought. So I stay in bed, drink copious amounts of tea (Nothing unusual there), watch DVDs and complete old games that I know well so that I don't have to think too hard about playing them.
