Silent Hill, a good book adaptation?

I always liked the great story telling of Silent Hill. When I heard about a book adaptation I nearly shat myself. The Feeling diminished when I noticed It was only released in Japan.
Does anyone think Silent Hill would've made a good book?

I'm not sure. It was made awesome by it's sound track and imagery. It could work but it'd be hard to pull off.
