Site ads are horrible

Is anyone else getting those "you've won an iPhone 7" ads that completely lock out the site on mobile? I know how the mods feel about ad blockers but if this keeps up I might just stop frequenting the escapist since there literally are no options to block ads on mobile.

For the most part I still enjoy the site, but those ads in particular are horrendous. There's no way around them on a mobile device; the only close button they display immediately takes you into their spam survey and leads you further down the rabbit hole.

Any time I see a site like Forbe's website that locks me out of entering until I turn mine off (I pay for PubClub, don't worry), I just leave the site and don't give it any of my traffic. Locking people out of your site hoping to make people white list or pay for a premium service is not going to bring in more money. It's going to push people away, because I know what my webpage will look like if I allow them to be there. And it looks like shit.

Ad blockers are a very real thing, and while I respect telling people to turn it off or leave at the door as an idea, you're basically blocking off tons of traffic and thus potential people to spread the page/article around. How many of the folk it's spread to don't have ad blockers? Probably quite a few, so good work there genius
