So, I installed Dragonsmount (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49074/?) a month ago, only to find the author had neglected to give us a way to obtain this castle for our own. So I promptly disabled it, and deleted it from my computer.

Loading a save from before I installed Dragonsmount did not delete the castle.

I even started a new game entirely, and Dragonsmount is still there.

So, how do I get rid of it? It is currently sitting on top of the spot needed by another mission, which means I cannot progress in that mission.

You might try right clicking on the game in the steam library, and going Properties->Local Files->Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Or, dare I say, reinstalling. Back up thy saves first.

Would uninstalling also delete my mods? As far as I know, LOOT only keeps them organized.

If you are using nexus mod manager they are stored separately so you won't have to re-download them.

It doesn't sound like the mod has been uninstalled properly. Have you checked your skyrim data folder to make sure it is actually gone?

Have you tried fully uninstalling the mod? Not just unchecking it on the plugins tab of the Mod Manager, or disabling it on the mods tab. Uninstalling it. On the Mods tab of the manager, go to the mod and right click it and choose "uninstall or delete" and then "delete mod (permanently) and uninstall". That should take everything about the mod off of your computer.

this is what needs to be done, not sure what you did OP but if you didn't do it this way, there is a high chance there are lingering files that are causing this for you.

I feel like there is also a much much higher chance of fucking things up worse if you uninstall/reinstall everything and then try to load your save.(not to mention massive waste of time doing all that.)

That is how I uninstalled it. And I just had a look under the Player Homes section, and it is not there.

However, I just had a look in the Skyrim Data files, and I saw that Dragonsmount.esp, in fact, was still in there. Seems the Nexus Mod Manager is not as perfect as it seems.

And better yet, deleting that .esp got rid of the castle.
