I'm sure everyone has seen it but in the UK it costs £129.99 whereas in US only it costs $149.99 which in pounds is £90-95. Why as UK citizens do we have to pay £30 more than our neighbours?

I may get the edition because it looks amazing but my wallet will be screaming for mercy come November :/

With the current exchange rates, in Australia, we're going to pay 120 pounds.
We aren't doing that great either i suppose

I've heard about game prices fluctuating from place to place, the US tending to have the low end of the range and the UK and Australia tending to have the high end. What causes it, apart from perhaps outright gouging, I do not know.

What I would like to know is does it come with an official certificate of authenticity proving that you own a game called "Elder Scrolls" by Bethesda, not "Scrolls" by Notch?

Only? You realize the Collector's edition is a complete ripoff to begin with? You get an artbook and making of DVD, worth no more than $15-20, leaving $70 for the cheap plastic dragon. (Or $100 for you.)

Differences in price are EXTREMELY normal though. New games in the UK are £49.99 aren't they? That's $82 US verses our $60.
In Australia every game is a collector's edition.

The US isn't your neighbor either, there's an entire ocean between us.

The whole thing isn't worth it, an art book, making of DVD and toy should not be worth that much, especially $200 fucking bucks in Australia.

The Mortal Kombat Kollectors Edition had similar stuff than that and it cost around $120 here in Australia.

The Fallout: New Vegas collectors edition had a deck of cards, making of DVD, poker chips, platinum chip model and a comic book and I paid $90 for it.

An art book, making of DVD and a toy statue.

There's an article about it here on the Escpaist, I don't know about you but I don't think that's worth $200.

With that I could buy probably 5 other games, old, new and/or unreleased.

How about just buying the normal one and stopping complaining?

Just a thought.

Or if you are determined to buy the collectors then mail Bethesda and ask them why they are such overpricing arseholes.

Sorry for my mocking tone I just think collectors editions are a complete waste of money until they come wayyyyy (inhale) yyyyyyyyyyy down in price. And only then if your either really drunk or it's a really good bargain.

And no, no £130 is not a bargain ..... in fact anything over £50 is a rip off for 1 bloody game.

30 pound more than your neighbours? Seriously? The Rest of the EU has to pay more. (130 pounds = 212 bucks, 150? = 214 bucks)

If we go by current ratios it should be around 105?, 92 Pounds and 144 ausDollar.
By current conversions. Europe only has to pay one dollar more, compared to the UK. AUS is only slightly less as well. Every non-us country has been shafted just as much.

150 Euros = 213.94500 U.S. dollars
130 British pounds = 212.71900 U.S. dollars
200 Australian dollars = 209.4 U.S. dollars

Regardless, even $150 is a bit much for it considering what you get.

Nah, the UK difference tends not to be that bad. Europe and AUS definitely is.

The RRP for new console games is £49.99 but no one sells them for that. They sell for anything from £30 to £40 on release depending on popularity and site. Hell, Halo Reach had a $150 CE with a statue, and the UK got it for £100 which is far nearer the proper conversion than £130 is.

I can't imagine paying 150$, let alone the 200+$ that some of the other countries have to pay. There is simply no reason it should be that much more expensive. That is ridiculous.
Still have to wonder though, with all the hype with Skyrim, do you think this will actually sell well?

I don't get it, the details of the CE have been stated, yet you're still asking people what they think will be in it.

We know what's in it, that's like wondering who won WWII, we know who won it, we know what is in the CE of Skyrim.

You have pre-ordered the CE, you will receive the game, a book, a DVD and a toy.

Out of curiosity did you actually pre-order it?

$100 USD is my cutoff point for collector's editions. Anything past that just seems... silly.

Of course, should there every be a Timesplitters 4 collector's edition, I'll buy it no matter what price it is. But that's because I'm a raging Timeslitters fanboy.

Im not asking, im saying that we should get more stuff, because that stuff aint worth $200 dollers in my opinion, we should get more stuff, thats what I said.

and I did pre-order it, today in fact, but they didnt tell me whats in it, and when I read that article I thought, "Why the hell arnt we getting more.

So basicly (as I have said before, proberley 100 times by now) all I am stating is that we should get more stuff so that the package is actually worth $200 instead of $130-50 dollers.
