Hello everyone, as I noticed there are about one hundred thousand trillion Skyrim topics, but I think mines a little bit different.

I tried to like Oblivion but I never could get into it enough to actually enjoy it. Now this may be because I tried playing it this year and the graphics were so outdated at this point it made me a little negative about it. However from what I've seen it looks to be a lot more immersive. Another qualm I had about the game was the impossible to follow the story. I'm hoping Skyrim makes it easier to follow the main plot or at least makes some sort of designation of which quest are actually important.

Basically my question is, are there any gamers who didn't love Oblivion, but are somewhat excited for Skyrim?

So were on the same page. Fallout 3 is the reason I gave Oblivion a chance, it is one of my all time favorite games and one of the few I took the time to complete and get all Achievements/Trophies for.

And now I'm dying to play Skyrim but I have to wait extra long because someone's already gotten a copy for my brother and his birthday is 2 weeks away and I'll have to wait ANOTHER week until he's dead from malnutrition...
but you havnt played it yet? because i really want to know if its any good in that regard...

then again its not like I can get it as I already have dark souls

I think it's a very sad world when someone says Oblivion's graphics are outdated. Presentation maybe, but graphics? How'zabout you go play a PSOne game, mmmmh?

*raises hand*

Most of the reviews I read said that skyrim still has a lot of the horridly rigid character animation from oblivion. And that the main story was nice, but not all that impressive due to said character problems.

I admit the graphics and my love for dragons make me curious to play the game, but I think I'll wait till the price goes down.

Bad word choice,I meant compared to modern warfare 2 which I played right before jumping into it was lackluster in that department (which is to be expected), I also played it on Xbox so no adjustable graphics.

This is what I want to know:

What do people who loved Morrowind and disliked Oblivion think of Skyrim?

If that crowd likes it then I should be good once my copy arrives.

You COULD look at Metacritic (96 is a pretty damn good score) or don't, but all I've heard since yesterday is praise.
and all I heard of oblivion was praise...I hated that game...plus Im hardly surprised by that score

HOWEVER I was in the store today and they had a little demo going..I played a bit and it looked really good (Im assuming it was the start-game, a dragon was attacking a village)

so I mean if they fixed what was wrong with oblivon...I may trade in darksouls afterall

I thought Oblivion was boring as hell, Skyrim looks somewhat intriguing to me with the Norse like setting. Not getting it yet mind you, gonna wait till the PC version isn't priced like a console game. That and I have other games to play.

Morrowind, liked it.
Oblivion, loathed it.
Fallout 3, meh.
Fallout New Vegas, liked it.

I will be playing the game on PS3 in about an hour and a half. I am stoked from a Let's Play I found online.

I loved Morrowind, and I loved Oblivion. But I loved both for different reasons.
Morrowind was the insanely deep, complex RPG I never knew I always wanted.
Oblivion was the casual, long, pretty RPG that helped sell me on the Xbox 360.

Skyrim, I love because it's the best of both. It's as deep, complex and hardcore as Morrowind, but will all the user friendly-ness of Oblivion, and a healthy dose of graphical awesome sprinkled on top.
