So.

Talk about Skyrim. Anything you want to talk about. Are you still playing it after two months? Was it everything you'd hoped it would be? More than you'd hoped? Less, even? What could Bethesda have done better? What could they have done away with? What kind of things would you like to see in future Skyrim DLC or even future Elder Scrolls titles?

Personally I burned myself out on Skyrim within the first month, and can't bring myself to touch it again now. There was just something it lacked. I played Morrowind religiously for about three years, and still go back to it occasionally now. Even Oblivion kept me entertained longer.

Got to level 56. Figure I've done about 1/2 of the main quests or so, maybe a bit less. Got pissed off getting one-shotted by some Deathlord shout and turned it off. Started Portal 2 and have almost finished it - very much enjoying the break.

Will get back into Skyrim, probably when the 1.4 patch hits. Enjoyed the heck out of the game, but I was also getting a touch burned out on it. That and I was feeling guilty about the huge backlog I wasn't even glancing at.

I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. Although I did take a break from it for totally unrelated reasons, the enjoyment of the game hasn't diminished at all. It's pretty much what I expected from it. It does have some small short falls, I admit. Like the graphics are a bit patchy in places, on the 360 at least. For example if you go to High Hrothgar and take a close look at the textures on some of the walls there, it looks pretty ugly to be honest. Like even almost as bad as Morrowind. But the last time I had a session I went down to the huge underground Dwemer city which you are required to go for the main quest line, and I was stunned by the beauty of the place. But I kind of expected the graphics to be like that before the game came out from seeing screenshots. Another small problem is that the scenery and architecture isn't particularly varied throughout the whole game. It's not exactly boring, it just doesn't have a wide range of different types of landscapes and building styles throughout the whole game, like Oblivion did. Maybe that is why you feel there's something lacking in the game. But I kind of saw that coming too. Skyrim is supposed to be the frozen north, so it won't be as much of a cultural melting pot as Cyrodil. And Morrowind is just so alien looking, you can't get bored of that.

Because there isn't so much variation in the environments I'm really hoping they add in some DLC that does what Shivering Isles did for Oblivion. Creating a totally different setting to compliment what's already there. I'm pretty certain that is the direction they will be going, judging by what Bethesda have said their plans for DLC will be.

I stopped playing it after 5 weeks and 105 hours. Lvl 43 mage and lvl... 28? sneak archer. Barely scratched the surface of the quests, really. Have not done most of the guild quests or the main dragon questline to completion.

I just kinda got bored of it.

However, I was looking at mods yesterday, and in particular there are some pretty good magic mods that might make the game playable again on my mage. Just need to up the difficulty a tad.

I have two characters:

level 47 Argonian Fighter/Mage who makes decisions I would actually make

level 38 Evil Kahjiit Stormcloak who is completely evil, uses two handed weapons and heavy armor.

I got it on my birthday ( 6th of december) and stop playing it a month later. I got bored , for some reason i found it lacking . I have about 100 hours in at and near the end i just did the main quest because i was sick of it. A little dissapointing seeing as i played oblivion for about 300 hours ( vanilla). I don't know what about it i didn't like though . I think the world was too big and void of action . I can't say for sure though , everything felt so...so... Superficial . Sure it looked nice , but thats about it . Don't get me wrong it's not a bad game , but there was something about it i found lacking. I actually preferee oblivion for some reason.

I can't wait for the damn modkit, the game is decent but not even on par with oblivion modded.

Skyrim modded might be worth a revisit, the base game is a little bland (and buggy!).

I still play it on and off sometimes. I've rolled way too many characters and only kept three of them.
My Khajiit battle-mage has completely broken the game and I basically became an indestructible bad-ass as soon as my enchanting and smiting hit 100, and playing as him is horrifyingly dull now as nothing even on Master difficulty poses any sort of threat. Not to mention that I have Kharjo as a follower, a war dog, and 2 storm atronachs helping me out.

My warrior sticking with sword and board is interesting, but I find it makes most encounters trivial, especially as a Breton with 25% magic resist naturally and the talent that gives me 50%(I think) magic resist just from raising my shield. It's slow going but I can generally outlast any threat.

My personal favorite being my Bosmer archer, which I find the difficulty of combat being 'just right'. It feels like I earn my kills rather than simply mashing swing sword/fireball until things die, although I am starting to get frustrated with how many arrows it takes to kill Dragons. I suppose it will get better with a higher smithing, but right now Dragon fights take WAY too long.

So, I'd say good game, but gets incredibly broken in terms of difficulty later on. And I'd be happy to never fight a Dragon again.

Got it late December, I love it. I don't think I'll ever tire of it. Some minor flaws here and there, 'lack' of a soundtrack, but it's still fun. Can't wait for the Creation Kit.

Level 45, finished the main campaign and a few other storylines. Over it, the fact that mods have genuinely improved the UI, the bugs, and for my PC, the graphics is really disappointing. The fact that it got GOTY from a number of websites is equally disappointing. I'll get back to it in a few months when I get bored of everything else.

If I hadn't literally destroyed my PS3 by playing it too much and too long (though, granted, I've been doing that since launch so sooner or later it was going to catch up on ONE of these game-a-thons), I'd be playing it right the hell now. It's a great game, and I can't wait to see where they take it with future expansions. Though if one doesn't involve setting fire to Sommerset, I will be disappointed.

i clocked about 80 hours, but like what has been said, there is something missing. Oblivion is one of my favourtie games, and that had me hooked for a very long time. Very long.

But something is off about Skyrim. Whether its a slightly bland world, boring quests or something else, im not sure, it just doesnt sit right with me. I just dont have that burning desire to keep playing it like i did with Oblivion.

I got it in mid December, have been playing it on and off, and have a level 27 Nord spellwarrior (one hand melee, one hand destruction/restoration)
It's pretty great at the moment, I have been ignoring the main quest for a while now, so I'm going to finish the remaining side-quests I've started, and then see how far I get on the main quest.
Then I am going to create a stealthy evilish character, and then a mage. I still haven't been to half the main cities, and haven't gone near anything that I decided didn't suit my character (eg. thieves guild and dark brotherhood - saving them for the thief)

Although gameplay can get quite tedious, it can easily descend into Inventory management: fantasy edition! and getting overencumbered can get annoying in dungeons.

I've been getting into testing mods that appeal to me at the moment, can't wait till the creation kit is released and the really elaborate mods start appearing.

Played it; didn't like it.

The game just still contained all the things I hated about Betehsda's previous games from the uninteresting main quest about someone/something wanting to blow shit up, the utterly boring characters, tedious gameplay (especially combat which was almost unbearable), horrible UI and personally I experienced some rather irritating bugs as soon as the game started.

The openeing itself was also very slow and more boring than both Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Remember how people would swear that this is a game that can be played forever and ever and ever without them being bored... Yeh...

I stopped after 6 hours, realizing its the same old shit. Nothing you do ever really matters and the problem with these kinds of games is that they invest time into everything except the AI. If the AI could adapt, learn and retain, I might have different thoughts. But a game with terrible combat, a country with the population of a very small university, boring and cliched story - where there is nothing to do but see the sights, does not make the cut.

As long as your satisfied with whatever hours of play you had, then I your purchase is justified. But in my opinion, those hours could have been invested into having fun rather than seeing sights and grinding stats.
