I just got home from work furiously eager to finally start the game after installing it on my lunch break blah blah blah yada yada yada when I came to the character customization options. Rolled female breton... but wait, where's my hundreds of sliders to fine tune EVERY aspect of my characters appearance to my liking? Why can't I choose hot pink hair? I really can't fap to this chick who looks like a grizzled long brown haired male with eyeshadow and a fked up nose. I hate this! Please tell me I'm missing advanced customization options! If not, I'm sorely disappointed by this... Are you? I was really looking forward to spending an hour on tweaking my character to perfection, instead, I only spent maybe 7 minutes. :(

I felt it was the same customization as in earlier elder scrolls games ie: nose, lips, cheeks, tattoos, dirt, hair colour, fatness,et.c are all there and can be changed, only slider I didn't find was how tall the character should be.

If your truly not satisfied then wait for some mods, they'll come soon. You did buy pc right?

Surely did, just thought I may have missed options during creation. I really hope powerful and sexy forces in the modding community feels my pain.

I enjoyed the character creator, because you can select from different things like noses, eyes and lips and then fiddle with sliders. I hate it when a game just has sliders because I never know where to start and just use the basic face with whatever head and facial hair I like. Now I can say, yes that nose but maybe a little wider. Those eyes, but more squintier.

I don't think it's that bad that you can't change height. Each race is around a particular height on average.

No I didn't meant it like that I meant that was the only slider I didn't find that I knew was in earlier games :3

They had height in previous ES games? It's been awhile since I played them.

Wait, whaaaaaa?

There are millions of sliders. I can customise every last detail about my character's nose, for god's sake. Sure, I can't make my guy's hair a ridiculous colour, but, then again, this is Skyrim and not Saint's Row 3.

Loving the char customization so far, made my husband's Redguard into one mean -yet- strikingly handsome muthafucker.

Next my elf!

Skyrim is a first-person game. It's not like you're going to be seeing their face in intricate detail for every second of the game. And I've felt like the protagonist of games with literally no visual character creation, such as Deus Ex 3. Besides, as long as the rest of the gameplay is still as deep as you're used to, calling 'DUMBING DOWN' falls a little flat.

Skyrim has more customization options than both Morrowind and Oblivion had, so... win? I'd think so. /:|

I won't argue that Skyrim lacks the RGB approach to hair color, but honestly? I never went with stark, non-natural hues anyway.

We still have all the facial sliders in addition to a weight one, so I'm thrilled. But in regards to having weird colors for hair and eyes, I wouldn't worry; there'll be a mod for that fairly soon, I'm sure... um, right after the initial batch of crude (and maybe one good) nude mods pop up. :p

Aww, you are too kind....

You will have to wait though i'm afraid.

For one, we are still playing the game and trying to find out what mods we want to start with and for two they haven't given us the Creation Kit yet so we can't start.

Until Bathesda give us the tools to begin you'll just have to hold on unfortunately.

But panic not, as soon as the tools are released to us there are guys and gals ready to go and I know at least 6 people ready to go on the characters and races.

It would really make the "Slow Motion Cutscene" kills a bit more immersive. I'm taken out of the experience when I'm reminded how butch my character looks. Also, I do enjoy playing in third person as well. Even though I miss more often, idgaf. I liked that the experience was personal.

So I can't have a neon-violet haired Dovakiin once I finally chose a humanoid character? That sucks and all but considering I'll be using helms and/or hoods and playing 99% in first person I don't see a huge problem here...other than every other Bethesda RPG character I've made in recent years has had neon colored hair.

Was disapointed by a few of the sliders. All those noses they had in the game looked really horrible and could have done with an extra slider or two in the nose and eye section.

I never made my character's hair a crazy color anyway. Only timem I've ever done that was when I gave my guy a bloodred Warhawk in Fallout 3.

I just couldn't stand seeing my guy running around with striking blue hair or a seafoam/neon green beard.

Ah lauk mah Arrpeegees ter be moar real-listic, if'n ya's know what I's meaning.
