I wanted to get some other people's opinion on Jason Rohrer's latest game 'Sleep is Death.' I recently played it with a friend and found it the most amazing experiment in interactive storytelling I've ever played. What do you guys think?

For AjimboB- Sleep is Death is a 2 player storytelling game in which 1 player interacts with an environment while the other player controls it. The two create a story together in 3o sec turns and the result is saved as a flip-book. It's got a site 'sleepisdeath.net' which you should check out.

I loved it. However getting it to open the port was the worse part.

Hmmm... What a selfless act, linking to this guy's game. Why, it's almot like free advertising!

Linking to information about games on a gaming forum is fine.

What else do you expect to happen when people talk of obscure games no one has heard of?

I would be surprised if this guy could afford to hire a room full of people to post positively on forums like the major publishers can.

It's a really intriguing concept, and I have it (I'll buy anything Roher makes), but I have to admit, it looks complex. I have no idea where to begin as the storyteller. Anyone who's played a few games have any hints?

It's awesome fun, though I found the 30 second time limit too... well... limiting... and changed it to 60.

Best I can offer you is to watch the tutorial videos, set up with a friend, and just improvise. I wouldn't advise developing any story too much, because the player can - and will - do their very best to derail it.

To give you a starting idea though...

A man wakes up in a room. There is a TV, a door, and a gun on the table in front of him.

The TV turns on.

Wow. Just wow.

This is a gaming forum, the OP created this thread to discuss an indie game. How can you not understand this, it's really quite simple.

I never heard of it and since OP isn't supplying any links to a site or any information I'm just going to call it bullshit and go back to enjoying my night.
Google is your friend, it's not hard to find it for yourself. Unless the OP is making this all up, what a hilarious joke. /sarcasm.

There's a set of tutorials for the controller setup on the site sleepisdeath.net if you look in videos.
