Whatever, just wash your hands.
Early today a group of small cartoon horses took over the nasdaq before the opening bell, holding people hostage until and interview with Tara Strong was aired. After they were seen on the big screens outside the building until they vanished again.

Today the stock market, tomorrow THE WORLD!!!
It's not really my thing, but I'd find it hilarious if the stock market had a cutesy cartoon bull and bear to report on everything. You'd have a bunch of alphas in bold suits standing round and watching them on the screen with rapt attention.

It's time to send New York City a 30 megaton nuke.
Should that be 4 megatons?

While it's great they are having BIG promo for the new season (honestly I thought it was promo for the upcoming movie) but what does stock exchange have to do with ponies despite what that guy was saying?

Also heh, I guess this give a nice comparison on the pony height to a real life human.

It's because Hasbro is a big company, the New York exchange does this all the time. Companies, actors, specific brands, musicians, athletes, basically anything a company wants to promote can have opening/closing bell events on the stock market, especially for entertainment companies they will push their various brands when it's their companies turn to ring the bell. They've had big bird up there, Star Wars, Wrestlemania rung the NYSE bell on 3/27, basically name a brand and the company that owns it has likely done an event similar to this, its sort of makes sense as the stock market is basically capitalism in its most base excessive form. It's also a really cheap way to advertise as it gets your product up in Times Square for a day.

Also the major national news networks generally have live views of Times Square during broadcasts or breaks, some morning shows are shot in Times Square as well, so the advertisements become part of those shots displayed on national television to millions of people over the course of the day.

There's actually live streams out there of the bell ceremonies you can probably find a couple of the weirder ones if you go looking.

How else could they associate themselves with the scum that is NASDAQ?
