The title says it all really. Ignoring any starting quests and so for now. What is the first thing you will do when you step into the wide world?

Personally, I will probally go hunting. Whenever I roleplay in games like these, I always start out as a hunter, humbly enough. Of course, I will also go out and start stealing stuff. I need to find that thieves guild after all.

Go for a swim probably.
That seems to be the first thing I do, either that or climb a mountain because I can't very well expect the water's of Skyrim to be very warm.

Three months? Damn, I thought the game was announced pretty recently.
Why couldn't Blizzard have done this with Diablo III? ;_;

OT: I'll probably do what I did in Oblivion; go dungeon crawling!

I'll probably remember that it's only been about 60 days since 'Space Marine' was released and go back online to smash up more ancient ceramite.

Seriously, though, I've never played a TES game, mostly because I'm not much of an RPG guy. However, it's been half an eternity since I've played a good fantasy game, and Skyrim does look appealing.
So, if I were to get this game, the first thing I'd do would probably be to just head out into the wilderness and see what it throws at me; I'd gather a conga line of various monsters and critters behind me just to see a cross-section of what the early overworld has to offer. And to gawp at the ridiculously beautiful scenery, of course.

I know the first thing I'm going to want to do is find a horned helmet like the one shown on the Nordic character from the demos. And a nice sword. Then just walk through the world in awe at the beautiful environment. That's all. Then we'll go from there.

The first town announcement after I travel through will probably read something like this.

Ill times have befallen our town. Sheriff murdered, women and children stampeded, and cattle raped.

Mission Accomplished

Well, apart from make a evil-looking Dunmer, I might just go wandering.
Or murder the entire starting town and loot all their stuff, then sell it to the next town I find.
I like to start with a bit of coinage in the pocket.

I'll probably try and get myself as immersed as possible to make sure I actually spend more time playing this than I did with Fallout 3. (For the record, Steam says I've played about four hours of that.)

Stare at the sky for around an hour. Every Elder Scrolls game has had amazing sky textures/animations.

begin my skull collection.

I hope to fill a room with skulls and swim in it this time.

Collecting crap is the only reason i play TES. Its also the reason i quit fallout-- plungers are nice and all, but just didn't do it for me. Oblivion loot was better.

Rush to the point where you get to fight dragons, and then slaughter dragons.

I'll probably go and buy my character some warm clothes and a hood. Gotta keep warm in Skyrim!
