I just got my game informer today and was excited to see a cover story about the new Army of Two. Unfortunately I must of misread the title because it was clear that the game that is currently in development is Call of Duty: 3rd person co-op. IF you haven't read the article the studio is saying they are removing all of what I consider made Army of Two the wonderfully flawed series it was. No more high fives, fist bumps, head buts, or off beat one liners. Now we have "serious" protagonist and a more "mature" story.

This is a trend that is seriously starting to piss me off. Games, like all other forms of art, are supposed to be a form of escapism. In case you hadn't noticed the world kind of sucks right now. Hell i haven't sat down and watched the news in over a year in a half because i got tired of hearing who got shoot, stabbed, raped, scammed, or screwed over in any other way. If i want to escape i want to go somewhere that doesn't suck as bad as the real world and Army of Two was one of the few games that still able play were you weren't in for a couple hours of watching people moan and ***** and be serious.

I kind got off my original point but i am just so tired of direction that the industry is going in and wanted to vent. My argument was neither eloquently made or well written out but i said what i wanted to say. comment or don't i really dont give a dam

WHAT? NO! The games were fun just as they were. Dark and gritty is cool but I am tired of everyone and their grandmother making another dark and gritty game because they think it makes their game edgy and cool.

While I never got into the games myself it does sound quite sad that yet another game has fallen to the tag lines of 'dark' 'gritty' 'mature', their are simply not enough games around anymore that make me smile and laugh without an active attempt to break the mechanics of the game (by this I mean hilarious glitches).

Then again, it does seem like all the money is coming from those products nowadays so I can see why a studio would head in that direction, the safe bet keeps people in jobs.

This...is...bullcrap.

The Army of Two games arnt perfect, but they are still fun to play, and the lightheartedness of it all makes me feel really good.

Is this because the story is bad in the games? Write a better story that has the same tone. Jeez, it's not rocket science.

I'm getting the feeling that no one here played the 40th Day much, or made it anywhere near the ending. Either ending was pretty fucking grim.
Indeed...either ending make me and my friend frown. I still hope this new series is still co-op awesome...the sound of it, hope is a really long way away. :S
