Me? I'm hoping to get my friends together (preferably in costume) and play some D&D, drink, watch a movie or two, and maybe go for a stroll around town. I've spent the last few weeks looking into movies and creatures for D&D, getting my costume ready, setting money aside and what not. Then i got curious as to what other people plan on doing this Halloween. The last few years i've been increasingly disappointed in the increasing lack of Halloween festivities and trick or treaters. So yeah, what are people doing this Halloween?

I'm going to get dressed up and either go out in town or go to a party with my friends.

Not sure what to dress up as yet but my friend and I are considering going as weeping angels and just photo bombing everyone.
If we can, appear in the back of photographs and move closer each time if more are being taken.

We're very sad people.

Myself? Not sure. Probably go with my sister when she takes my nephew out trick-or-treating. Or maybe have dinner with my dad, or get together with some friends to watch as many half-star horror movies on Netflix as we can. Halloween is never really a big deal for me or those close to me, though I do take the opportunity to pig out on cheap Crunch bars.

My friend, though, had an idea which makes me chuckle still. Every time someone calls him to ask if he's going to a Halloween party, he says sure. For his costume, he tells them, he'll be going as Half-Life 3.

He will then stay home and never show up at the party.

Playing horror games all day, more than likely. Condemned, Silent Hill, that sort of thing.

This'll be the first Hallowe'en that I'm trying to avoid snacking like hell though with stuff the outer family gives us though, so that's a different challenge.

The same thing I do every year pinky, try to avoid all mention of the "holiday".

I find this "holiday" to be one of the most annoying, everything takes on this "scary" facade, I'm looking at a packet of cake bars that instead of normally being called Cadbury cake bars, they are now "spooky" cake bars (I bought them 'cos they are cinder toffee), they are also individually wrapped by mummies. It has this tacky aura to it.

I can understand why kiddies like it, free sweeties and I understand why party goers like it, get drunk wearing clothes you don't usually wear. I just don't why others go nuts for it, I guess it shakes up the monotonous day to day life but I'm tired of fake bats, plastic ghosts and packaging going "scary".

Do love pumpkin art though, some seriously awesome carvers out there!

I'll probably spend it with my girlfriend watching a few horror movies. I love horror movies so I love October in general because they're are constant horror movie marathons on TV and I can usually find one to watch. I've made it a point to watch at least one everyday this month, just to reconnect with a genre I've loved since I was a very small child. Growing up I watched horror movies. Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, then as I got older Alfred Hitchcock stuff, and older horror movies, as well as other stuff like the Howling series, all the Romero movies and a lot more. Although, I used to be super scared of Chucky and there was a time when I couldn't be in the same room as Nightmare on Elm Street. As a kid, I have really strong memories of watching this silly horror comedy called Dr. Giggles over and over again. I know it's not that great of a movie now, but when I was a kid I loved it. Another good one was Fright Night, but that movie actually holds up for me now that I'm an adult. I didn't care for the remake of that one as I felt it took itself too seriously. Lost Boys is another fun one to go back and watch now even if it's just to see Jack Bauer as a vampire.

The same thing I do every night. Try to take over the world. Play games and listen to music, and not dealing with any of the silliness accompanying it.

It's a thursday, so I'll be at work during the day, then I'll come home, go the gym, have dinner, probably watch tv or something for a bit then go to bed.

Yeh, I'm not really into this so-called "holiday" either. Funny, I know people who rate Halloween above Christmas, due to Christmas being all commercial and all about spending money. Because there is no way in which the increased prevalence of Halloween amongst "adults" in recent years has absolutely nothing to do with companies out to make a swift buck by getting people to buy a whole lot of cheap seasonal tat.

As an aside, I guess I was in here quick enough to be the first to make the inevitable "Pinky and the Brain" reference.

My friend is bringing me and my cousin up to his old fraternity where I will probably spend the night trying to stay as sober as possible. I generally don't like to get drunk and am not a fan of large parties so me and my cousin are renting a room at a nearby hotel so we can have an out.

Planning on going as Captain Mal though, so that will be fun.

Adventure Time Group, I'm going to be Finn. I have most of the costume ready except for plain blue shorts and white socks. I suggest we have a post Halloween thread that we can put all out pictures on for those of us who dress up as something.

I'm off work that night, the night before and the night after so...I'm more than likely going to spend that time off playing New Vegas because trophies! Or perhaps I'll try something different...this time last year I played through Super Castlevania IV...I may do that again. I don't plan on dressing up though or, going out. I may have to but I won't have a costume.

Same thing I have done for the past 6 years. Try and scare people shitless when they come up to my front porch. I managed to get some awesome jump scares and horrified girly shreaks a few years back, so I'm hoping I can do something of the sort again this year (Seriously, 3 girls screamed so loud a person about a block away came up to our door the next day asking if that was us, or if it was around our area. Highlight on my Halloween career~)

That sounds awesome! Last year we played a tri-stat horror game set in the roaring 20's in Louisiana, but this year we've unfortunately had to cancel. We would have played the final part of my Mutant Chronicles campaign this year, but I guess it'll have to wait til sometime in November. I live out in the middle of nowhere (also, Sweden, so Halloween's not huge here anyway), so not expecting any trick-or-treaters at all.
Also, because I'm curious and on a virtual D&D bender right now... what edition/version/homebrew of D&D are you playing?

I plan on sitting on my ass while doing stuff on the internet and ignoring any of the little bastards who decide to attempt to bother me for candy even tough we have minimum lights on.

I'm really excited for the new Halloween update for Team Fortress 2. At the same time I'm kind of nervous that it will be very underwhelming after everything VALVe did with TF2 last year.

We mostly play Pathfinder but i'm gonna use 2nd Ed AD&D for any campaigns related to being terrifying and such just because of the difference in mortality rate. I was thinking of using the D6 or Call of Cthulhu systems for this but i figured it's be easier for them to use 2nd Ed. Hoping to lead it into an ongoing campaign.
