So, I dusted off my XBOX 360 and wanted to know if the Escapist Community could recommend some decent games. I normally play RPGs (Western style), FPSs, Sandbox games, etc.

(Are the 360 versions of Fallout3, Oblivion, Gears of War, and COD:4 any good? I play them occasionally on my PC but its kinda lacking in the graphics department.)

Also, is Gamefly any good?

I can vouch for fallout 3 on xbox 360, though you don't get any mods. Oh and nice work quitting MMO's.

What's more: Welcome to the Escapist :)

Call Of Juarez and Call Of Juarez: Bound in Blood are pretty awesome and arcady, pick them up cheap though as they are short.

Congrats to the TS

ME: nice story with mediocre gameplay
FO3: fair game, weak story
GTA: average game
COD4: decent
Oblivion: fundamentally broken game, unless you DL mods for it on the PC.

Yahtzee likes Gears2 though.

congractulations sir! trust me, you won't miss them :)

good games? well, though I don't own a 360 (I have a PS3), I've heard Gears of Wars is very good... also, try GTA IV, Halo 3, Oblivion (Game of the Year edition), and isn't Jelly Car available on XBLA?

I don't understand why people are congratulating you, if you don't like something you stop. Not too hard to comprehend. :/

anyways, definitely get Fallout 3. There are others but start with that one!

I've had good experiences with Gamefly. It's very similar to netflix, but you have to keep track of your envelope and disc sleeve because they code them. But if you do lose the envelope, they'll send you another one free of charge. It's nice to be able to test out any game you want before blowing 50 dollars on something just to take it home and realize you don't like it.

WHAT!? Before the new Star Wars MMO came out!? You will rue this day sir!

Get Dead Space, if you haven't already played it. It's a pretty good game.

You quit MMO's? You know Bethesda's got one coming out next year, right? Splash I think it's called?

EDIT: My mistake- Splash Damage is the company working with Beth on their Multiplayer game Brink (out this spring), the other 2 games they announced are SP only... Still, swearing off MMO's will mean you miss a lot of decent games...

Congratulations on quitting!
Since when did no longer playing games become so admirable? I decided to shelf Oblivion a few months ago, where's MY fanfare!?

Even though it's a JRPG, I'd suggest Lost Odyssey. I pretty much hate JRPGs, but this one is alright. Other than that, I think the other suggestions covered everything. For FPS, try TimeShift.
