Yay Nick! This thread is now about silly mistakes we have made on forums.

I have triple posted multiple times.

Oh excellent. Now I feel like I've started something fun.

I once typo'd my username and it stuck.

Lol.

At least you got some replies. I had a thread recently that died without a single post.

This is about mistakes, not amazingly-awesomely-beautifully-brilliant happenings. Jeez. Read the second post. ¬.¬

OT: I was listening to a song at a fast pace (Not rock, just some random music. Not stuff I'd usually listen to, more like classical than anything else. But that's beside the point. SHUT UP) and my internet was lagging on a forum (Not this 'un) and I posted 18 posts.
It was awesome.

I COOK!! When was it... I must have missed it..... By the way do you know why when ever I go to bake a loaf of bread it comes out like a rock?? I've made pizza dough, sticky buns, so I have experince in rising doughs, but my bread loafs always end up like rocks.

Nothing much, just a few typos.
Although there was that one time where I deleted the wrong bracket and made a quote into a wall of text.

Oh! I do. Just not well.

And Ironically, this thread actually has more than the one I actually was hoping for an answer to. XD

I've never before seen an accidental 18-posts. I respect you.

Earlier this week. I was looking for new recipes. My best bet is that I didn't place a very cool recipe (it was a rice dish) on there, so no one was wanting to post. But I also promised that I would post another if there were some replies. Something that would go really well with the dish. Which was part of the reason I posted it. But I didn't really wanna give out such a good family recipe without some incentive.

Hmmm. I have no experience with bread myself, but if it's coming out hard, my best bet is that you are overcooking it. I can't imagine that you are doing anything wrong in the preparation. At least not anything that would explain it coming out hard and inedible.

I was hoping to learn some new recipes. I actually have a few really good ones. I've cooked them for friends who couldn't believe that I am such a good cook. I just say it runs in the family.

Yeah, there actually is a fairly popular thread in the gaming section that I posted. The funny part is that I had thought it was lost in the forums. Then when I woke up the next day it had three pages of comments.

Not a problem. Like I said, no one commented on it. At all. So it just got lost in the forums.

Though, I am happy to know there are some people who cook on the Escapist.

Never question the possibilities of an unknown chef on the internet. It's a scary thing to underestimate.

No its no in the oven, its the rising thats the problem... My friend who is an AMAZING BAKER, she came over for dinner and made a loaf while I did the roast... And hers turned out just fine, using the same recipe as mine... Its somewhere in the execution is where I am going wrong.

I mean what I said. Some people you just don't expect to be bakers. And yeah, that is pretty funny. XD

So I did a quick search for you. If it's not being over cooked, then you are probably not allowing the dough enough time to rise. The dough needs to double in size. Then, you punch it down and allow it to double again. Also, you should put a dish towel or wax paper over it. You need to allow the dough to rise in a warm room as the cold can inhibit this. Also, brushing the loaf with melted butter both before you put it in the oven and after can help. Hope that helps.

Yeah, you'd be surprised by people sometimes. What's even funnier is that someone read what I said, found that thread and posted in it. Last I checked it has some comments.

Every tread I try to start ends in fail. Most of them are about video games and their applications in the real world, their culture, ect. (It's for a final project in college.)

Guess people can't help a poor college kid out :_(

What the hell is that, and why am I a member anyway?

I keep getting excited when I log on and I'm like "OOH NEW MESSAGES, SOMEONE QUOTED ME CAUSE I'M SO FUNNY/SMART" but then it's from that goddamn Whoops group, and I feel sad.
