And it was on the PS2. It was annoying at times but all in all I had fun trying to figure out what I was even trying to accomplish. I'd like to go back and try again, yet, I can't quite remember the name of it.

I remember the name meaning something like "faces" or "memories" in some other language. Not entirely sure, but it started out with you being in a town, and as you explored, you'd find strange disfigured civilians, all with strange personalities, that I guess you'd (later on) turn into regular humans with orbs found in a large tower where the main dungeon crawling portion of the game occurred. You would die. A lot. And the game expected this. There was an item keeper you could send good stuff you found while crawling so that you could have it again when you died. And an item that was essentially a 1-hit KO to just about everything that you could from this angel-type guy every time you died because it was story crucial.

Once you died the first time, the tutorial would actually open up, and it was this gravekeeper man, I believe. And he said "God Dammit" in every sentence ever. Like, "Don't forget to save your game, god dammit."

I can't remember that much more about it, but the name is on the tip of my tongue and it's been bugging me.

Anyone got any ideas?

Edit: Remembered it after...iunno, lost track of time. For any interested, it was "Baroque", a game by Atlus.
