According to your profile, you're only a member of the TF2 usergroup. I could easily imagine this happening if you were a member of the pony usergroup and you didn't turn off chat notification.

But the solution is to turn off chat notifications.

Just hit the select all button and then delete. You can only do it a page at a time, though. Have fun.

I'm a member of both. TF2 wasn't really a problem. 1 message every hour or two. But about 15 minutes after I joined the pony usergroup, I realized that all 200-something of the messages I got were coming from their chat. Now, whenever I join a group, I turn that particular notification off.

To the MLP Escapist Fan Group: Really, guys, I know MLP is awesome, but that many chat messages is pretty crazy. I can't really force you guys to tone it down, but perhaps take it as a suggestion.
