So I just got a Vita for Christmas as well as The Walking Dead Season1 game, Arkham Blackgate, and Rayman Legends. I'm also planning on picking up Persona 4: The Golden after I finish Persona 3 FES. So with that in mind, any suggestions for good games. Please keep it to physical games as I only have a 4 gb memory card and a 16 gb memory card.

Persona 4: Golden is the game to get on it. Persona 3 is also a good choice

Other games I like on it include Dragon's crown, Muramasa rebirth, soul sacrifice, and Silent hill: Book of memories (no really)

Silent Hill: Book of Memories (its kind of a hack and slash RPG)
Soul Sacrifice
Muramasa's Rebirth
Gravity Rush (crazy interesting platformer/adventure)
Ragnarok Odyssey
Uncharted: Golden Abyss

These are all the games I vouch for as they are the ones I own.

People really need to learn how to use the search function before making a thread. We have the same thread for this every time someone buys a Vita/3DS/whathaveyou.

I personally recommend:
Atelier Totori+
Atelier Meruru+
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Gravity Rush
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F
Persona 4: The Golden

I'll also link you this. Here you go OP.

Soul Sacrifice and Gravity Rush as others have said. Both of these are currently free via PS+, along with Stranger's Wrath HD and Golden Abyss. Killzone Mercenary is also a pretty fun fps from what I've played thus far.

Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4 Golden

Seriously that game alone makes the system worth it. Other games include Soul Sacrifice, Muramasa Rebirth, Gravity Rush, Killzone Mercenary and Tearaway. The Vita actually has a decent library now, especially when you consider the fact that you have access to a huge amount of classic PSP and PS1 games.

Tearaway - AMAZING platformer uses every feature of the Vita to almost perfection.
Terraria - if you dont have this yet it plays great on the Vita (small download and it fits fine on mine with only a 8gig card total and many others downloaded)
Ys Memories of Celceta - If you havent played a Ys game before it is a great Action RPG

Super Stardust is also a great game, even if I didnt get it free I would buy it.. great shoot-em-up

As someone who has 17 physical vita games (1 being a japanese import..) because he wanted to see what the system has on offer, some quality games for the system that are available would be: (in no particular order)
-Persona 4 Golden
-Killzone Mercenary
-Ys Memories of Celectia (recommend ys origins on steam if you enjoy this.)
-Muramasa Rebirth (oh god this was good)
- Dragons Crown
- The atelier series of jrpgs (virtual content on PSN, but thats if you move off that small card of yours)
-Gravity Rush (try to get this on the cheap if you can, surprisingly well made at current prices)
-Soul sacrifice
-hatsune miku's project diva F (if you are into that sort of music..)
that out of the way, realize this is biased due to my preference of game types. The vita has a very decent library now, and was well worth a purchase in my books.

EDIT-
Also any psp/ps1 titles that were of note, they are often cheap if you decide to invest in a larger card

Tearaway - Platformer you can poke your fingers into, need I say more?

Ys: Memories of Celceta - Ys Series Action RPG, plenty of content to sink your teeth into if you choose to.

Muramasa: Rebirth - 2D Side-scrolling action combat with some RPG elements and gorgeous, hand-drawn art courtesy of Vanillaware.

Dragon's Crown - 2D beat-em-up dungeon crawler that just keeps getting free updates. Most recent was a level cap increase from 99 to 255, and a 10,000 level dungeon plus some tweaks. It also has Vanillaware's hand-drawn art.

There's also P4:G, the Atelier series, the Disgaea series, Gravity Rush, Killzone: Mercenary, Uncharted, and a whole slew of PSP games and PS1 games. The games in development are also pretty promising, and there are some impending announcements regarding the "BuildingtheList" initiative on Twitter.

Oh, and check out Murasaki Baby too; I think it's coming out soon.

HOWEVER: I wouldn't pick up Soul Sacrifice or Ragnarok Odyssey right now; while excellent, they're both getting re-releases soon. Soul Sacrifice: Delta and Ragnarok Odyssey: Ace, respectively. I suggest getting those when they come out. I think Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is actually Cross-buy for PS3/Vita but I could be wrong.

As for storage, I only have the 16GB card but honestly it goes a long way. You can always store games on your PC if you run out of room, too.

Killzone Mercenary is pretty damn good, if it does control a touch stiffly and have a hefty dose of console auto-aim, but it looks good and is very fun with a great multiplayer component and enjoyable campaign. Even physical copies chew up storage though.

Otherwise: indie it up.

Guacamelee, Retro City Rampage, Hotline Miami, and my most recommended indie game on the system:

Stealth Bastard Deluxe: Tactical Espionage Arsehole, or whatever they named it for censorship reasons on the Vita. Fantastic bite-sized stealth platforming, and really, stealth to the point where it's a puzzle and not action, you get seen? you dead son.

Well, since you already stated you will be getting Persona 4 Golden, I won't waste my time recommending it further.

I know you said you wanted the physical cartridge, but I would still definitely recommend PS+ if you don't have it already, as long as you are willing to play one game at a time. I've only been using a 4 GB card, but I sank a ton of hours into both Gravity Rush and Uncharted: Golden Abyss (both free with PS+ and seem to be there to stay). Currently Soul Sacrifice (which will be the next game I load up), Oddworld: Strangers Wrath, Wipeout 2048, and Sonic & AllStars Racing Transformed are free as well at the moment, though Soul Sacrifice will be gone next Tuesday. Titles swap in and out every week or so, so you can always have something new to play. Plus, now you can re-download titles that you "purchased" through PS+, so even if you don't have the space on your memory card at the time, you can still grab the game while it's free and download it later!

If you are a fan of the Assassin's Creed series, Liberation was pretty enjoyable, spicing things up by using a outfit mechanic to allow you to blend in with different groups, but limited your capabilities depending on what you wore. I've heard great things about Tearaway and Killzone Mercenary (I have Killzone, but haven't played it yet since I'm trying to platinum Persona 4 first).

If you like puzzles, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward is awesome, but it's half visual novel, half gameplay, so I can see that it might not be for everybody. Also, it is a continuation of 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors which was a Nintendo DS release and I feel is necessary to play first (or at least read a wiki) in order to recognize some of the plot points of VLR.

While there do not seem to be a lot of Vita games when you browse in a store, there really are a good number of titles at this point if you are willing to order online. Have fun and enjoy your Vita. I've been using mine daily for the past 7 months or so.

WipEout 2048 was really good in my opinion, because it is different from other racing games. In most racing games, I notice that when you progress, the cars just get faster and so do your opponents, just so you can crash into the walls with higher speed. In WipEout, combat is a big part of the game too. Your first vehicle is actually a pretty fast one, but it has low health and firing power. For every type of race and type of track you tactically need to choose a vehicle for factors of speed, handling, firepower and health. This is what I loved about it, choosing vehicles tactically was crucial for winning.

I never was a big fan of EA nor FIFA, but FIFA is actually a lot of fun on the vita. I didn't even enjoy football, but now I'm actually seriously watching it.

The LEGO games are also quite enjoyable to play. Uncharted: golden abyss wasn't a good game in my opinion, but maybe you can enjoy it. I heard a lot of good things about dragon's crown, maybe you should check it out.
