So I wasted two years worth of study in 90 minutes this morning

My exam was on global warming and its consequences but instead I wrote about how global warming was a waste of time and that we should really concentrate our efforts on finding Manbearpig.

I hate myself.

Well all I can really say is sorry, you can resit your exams though can't you? What exam did you do, Geography?

don't worry, you're not alone in wasting away your exam. me and another user who go to the same college messed up our first exam on the topic :p
and he was sweet enough to write "I'm sorry you had to read this" at the end. isn't that nice? :D

Well, at least you realize your foolishness.
I'm all for quoting South Park but you gotta know when to do it and when to avoid it.

If your lucky, your exam marker might have a sense of humour. If not, oh well, you need to resit.

Now, all you have to do is pray that whoever grades your test has a good sense of humor and has at least seen that episode of South Park.

Either way, hilarious work.

Well, way to throw perfectly good money out the window for a South Park joke.

I hope you're proud.

I feel forced to ask, why? You must have known that doing this wasn't a good idea at the time, so why did you go through with it? Humour in an exam isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's got to make sense and be appropriate to the subject. In an example that I am endlessly proud of, in my French GCSE I wrote a really ranty review of Indiana Jones 4 (in French, of course), and ended up doing really well.

The point is, doing something unconventional can be a very good way to get marks, but it still has to make sense in the context. Manbearpig is not something that makes sense in the context of global warming.

General Studies but I need a good grade in it in case I don't get the desired results for my other subjects.
Don't worry, no universities really pay any attention to General Studies-several have even said that they won't count it in your application at all!

It's a pretty pointless subject too, it's basically testing your ability to write comprehensive essays on entire topics in about 15 minutes.

Well the bad part is you might have failed the good part you have something to write about on escapist. However when you get your exam back please post it in a new thread if it takes awhile. It sounds interesting

Well in any case you can still retake your exams later on, so don't loose all hope yet.

Well if you did it well (as in well written, clear and not just a bunch of filler), then you should still be able to get a good mark.

I quote Nick Naylor - Spokesperson for Big Tobacco; "That's the beauty of argument; If you argue correctly, you're never wrong"
