My exam was on global warming and its consequences but instead I wrote about how global warming was a waste of time and that we should really concentrate our efforts on finding Manbearpig.

don't worry, you're not alone in wasting away your exam. me and another user who go to the same college messed up our first exam on the topic 
and he was sweet enough to write "I'm sorry you had to read this" at the end. isn't that nice?

Humour in an exam isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's got to make sense and be appropriate to the subject. It's a pretty pointless subject too, it's basically testing your ability to write comprehensive essays on entire topics in about 15 minutes.
Well if you did it well (as in well written, clear and not just a bunch of filler), then you should still be able to get a good mark.
