Ok so I just saw this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEYDUnwmG4U
and kept getting conflicted with myself. On the one hand I believe that it should be inclusive but on the other hand I saw how they assumed what the reporters opinions were just because she was conservative. Which is understandable but wrong at the same time. I guess what I'm asking is for fellow feminists of the forum, is this the norm (where feminists will deny people inclusivity) or is this some fabrication done by the reporter to try and call out feminists unjustly? I kinda hope this isn't the norm but I can't deny that even though she may have conflicting opinions, she shouldn't have been shunned. I don't know, let me know what you think.

They were probably worried that the site would twist their words into something bad. Reporters, not just conservative, tend to that. Another problem with these videos is, what could they have possibly cut? The video was posted on a conservative channel, they could easily edit some footage to make them seem in the right.

But of what I saw, the feminists could have been a little kinder in declining. But the choice to answer questions is all theirs. Of course stereotypes come into play with this, hell I used one earlier in my post. Everyone will use them. A conservative reporter has quite a few stereotypes, nearly all of them are not good.

Any group or ideology has the potential to be exclusionary, feminism is no exception.

I'm a little dubious of this video though because the editing seems to be very selective. People are cut off mid-sentence when answering the question of why they might not want to do interviews with her.

I'm not sure if I'd call it bullying though, people just seemed hesitant to do interviews with her because it was a conservative source, it didn't seem like there were any personal attacks.
Maybe they were worried that things they said would be twisted to make a news story out of nothing, maybe this video validates their fears.

That or they were just exclusionary assholes, you can't really tell from a bad quality, poorly edited two minute video.

It isn't like conservative reporters have the best reputation when it comes to reporting on gender issues. Many of these people probably feared that the reporters were going to heckle the people at the convention and/or get them to say stuff that could be easily taken out of context for an online video.

With that said, some of the people definitely could have been a bit more tactful in how they handled the situation. Even if it was just fear that what they said would be taken out of context, some of them played way too easily into that very possibility. Still, every group is going to have its people that do more to tarnish the reputation of the group than advance its purposes, so it shouldn't be hard to find them if you look hard enough, which these reporters were certainly doing. However, that doesn't mean that every feminist is like that.
