EDIT: In case you're still confused about things after reading everything below, all you're doing is making a post about the post below you with you're game and company using the form I made. It's making a story with the company I've presented below and weaving one that could be infinite. You can post as many times as you want as long as it's a response! It can even be a response to yourself.
Hello guys! This is The Crispy Tiger, and I have a fun game and discussion that I thought that you all might want to be part of and enjoy. I'm making a fake game company for funsies, because this is what you do when you have free time, and high school is smashing you like a drunk driver smashes into a Wal-Mart at 12 O'Clock at night. I always find it fun to go, "What if a game company did this or that and what would happen if they did that?"
And honestly when we're all tearing each other to shreds, because a game dev did something we don't like and someone thinks that us not liking it is misogyny and holy shit this post has surpassed 6000 comments, you realize we all need something to bring this family back together with some fun games. You know, how we all got here in the first place.
You make a game in a fictional company and then the other person makes the new game in the company from there and the game continues on forever from there... that's the essence of the game but there's more to it then that so keep reading.
Let's set some ground rules. You can have political commentary in your games, just don't make it a game in which is talking about lightning rod issues. In other words, if you want to make a game about gay rights, great! But don't turn it into a discussion about gay rights. Also, so we can keep this going for a very long time, Post your game as a response to the last guy. I'll show you what I mean in a second. If you notice someone is new and not following the rules, fill him in real quickly, direct him right here, or just skip him and post keeping the game alive. Now let me explain the game rules!
This is a fictionalized game world. There are three companies that make consoles:
Huri
Mainframe
Qizter
Consoles:
Sii U
The Z-Box
GameBoat 4
Since we can't guess the future, who cares, but we can make our own! If that type of logic makes any semblance of sense... These are the companies. They each have they're own predefined histories, and our making their own. You will make games on their consoles along with always awesome PC option. Now your game can have a huge effect on the console and on the gaming world inside of it, or it can be something that follows the trend, who knows!?!? You can make Halo 3, or The Last of Us, or the newest greatest thing. OR you could make WET. Either way, you make the decisions from there. Also think of what the success of these games will have on your team members, keep that in mind for the person to have to write and deal with.
Also there are other companies in this world:
Game Devs:
Evil, Co:
MasterChip:
RuntPunt:
SuperPaq:
Rutsack:
The Rubber Band:
Shotgun Games:
Lidia:
Dead Horse:
Poore Productions:
Publishers:
Menace:
StiqMen:
Rivet:
Interactive Art (IA):
They can also influence your team, and inspirations for the games you make. One of them could go defunct and you get a sudden wave of new members, or a new company forms and you have to deal with the new competion and a loss of members. Maybe a person from your company is "graduating" and leaving to a new company. Maybe the CEO after the 30 years is throwing in the towel and retiring and a new CEO comes in. These companies can influence your world and DON'T FORGET THEM. Also every 6-9 years, a new console generation will happen and the company will have to adjust to that. It's very important that time moves in the game as this is a simulation. And console companies aren't safe either, one could fall and a new one rise. Maybe a fourth company comes into play called GaSe (Sega jokes, LOL.) and starts to kick ass. The world affects your company the way you want it to, just don't turn this simulation into god mode.
When playing, you'll have to fill out this form:

Now, the great thing is that you can go into as much detail about any one thing as you want as long as you go in enough detail. Fill everything just enough. Carry on from all the deatils that have been given to you before. So keep the peoples who are making it's personality in mind and how the effect of the game would have on the people inside of the company and all of that good stuff. Mary, the very liberal and feminist gamer wouldn't be into making a game about sexualized dolls massacring evil men who raped them in a kinda sexy way for a parody of "I Spit in Your Grave" but with Barbie. Everyone's personality matters too. I'll start it out an show you guys everything you need to do when playing it.
The Team: Michael Scott Jr. (A gamer all about story, and heavy love for strategy and FPS games, who could care less about political messages) and Zoey Mendez (A gamer who love boobs, guns, and gore, and loves to make shooters and anything fantasy related. Also Micheal's girlfriend and sex buddy)
The Added Members: None, this is their first game.
The Members Who Left: None, this is still their first game.
Years to Develop Game: 2 years
Year of Game Release: 2016 (After this post you will put the last date to the first date, so 2016-2019, or if they took a quick break from making the game, 2018-2019, etc)
Development History: Michael and Zoey met in high school. The two were High School Sweethearts and the two went to the same college. Michael got a business degree and coded in his spare time and Zoey got a degree in computer sciences planning to work in the video game industry. Michael who spent a lot of his spare time also writing came up with a fun story about four civilizations trying to destroy each other in a FPS. Zoey, learning code in college and becoming very good at it decides to make the game with Michael as a college project. The two finish college and then go full on finishing the game and deciding to put it out there on the free market, and the two also get engaged!
Name of The Game: Mercury
The Franchise, and It's Placing: The Mercury Franchise, The first in the series
The Game Genre: First Person Shooter
Game Console: PC
The Games Pricing: 15$
Game Characters and Personality (With Art Included if Possible):
Roy Cardigan: A super soldier, who after his wife died tragically and heroically due to the Black Sun, black partner killed only two days from retirement by The Red Monarchy, and mother and daughter shot in an accidental sniper bullet meant for him, sent by the Burrowing Spiders. He's goes on a murderous rampage destroying anyone in his way and finding many others ulterior motives and why so many damn people want him dead getting him caught in a very extreme web of insanity.
Queen Elizabeth: The leader of The Red Monarchy who wants to kick The Federation and their greatest prize, Roy, to continue to mine for oil and pull in a silly environment message after burning down the Native American cat peoples weird tree thing (The Aztecs) and Roy gets caught in that trying to kill Queen Elizabeth and help the Aztecs.
Dennis O,Brady: An explorer of Mercury, and leader of The Black Sun who needs the Federation and Roy dead so he can raise the world in anarchy and have reborn in the name of Jesus! They are also torturing and extorting a group of people named the Forgotten (Society's rejects, gays, blacks, unattractive women, and so on) to fund their religious propaganda!
Selena: A former flame of Roy's, who works as a mercenary and the leader of the Burrowing Spiders. She helps him find the associate who shot his mom and daughter.
Game Story (Beginning, Middle, and End, Skip to the one below if Multiplayer Only):
Beginning:
We start the game meeting Roy. He's fighting The Blue Sun who are trying to overthrow the Federation. The army is being taken and when Roy finally gets his suit (The Exo-Skeleton, a supersuit that turns Roy more into a badass) charged up and ready he turns the tide around singlehandedly and destroys them, with his lover Selena. Fast-forward 15 years later, Roy is now Robocop, keeping the city safe with his wife, kid, mother, and sarcastic comic relief partner. Everything is going fine, until BLAM! Everything happens and he loses everybody. In a cruel twist of fate, several organizations want him dead and all three made gigantic failures in doing so.
Roy gets in contact with Selena who gives him all the information he needs and the two help each other out. Roy first goes after the Red Monarchy. It turns out the queen herself ordered his execution and he travels to the other half of Mercury (Which I feel I should point out isn't actually Mercury but another planet in a galaxy far, far, away...) to get her.
He fights her and her superpowered guards but fails and is saved by the natives. The natives, it turns out, are willing to fight alongside him, IF he can do some favors and set everything up. Since the Red Monarchy are aware of his presence, they will now be sending their guards to protect their stuff. Roy takes care of the favors and gets the army set up. Everything looks like it's about to check out the Queen herself, comes to fight and deliver the fight to the natives. She sets them all up and starts to annihilate the Aztecs.
Roy gets The Aztecs out in the nick of time but The Red Monarchy is still following them and it's looks like it's too late. When the Federation comes in and saves the day! The federation dominates the Red Monarchy and put Elizabeth on trial. The Federation give Roy the A-Okay on killing The Blue Sun (since they're a terrorist organization, and The Burrowing Spider (since they're bounty hunters and always instantly become fugitives when they're work breaches specific regulations like killing people since the definition of a mercenary is different in this game then the traditional definition.))
Middle:
Roy goes after The Blue Sun, who decides to see who they're abusing first then grab their help to make things easier. This is also where a stealth focus comes in because you don't want to alarm, The Blue Sun of your location. Roy does favors for the Forgotten and start to really sympathize with them. He decides to bring it up with the people who own the land, The Federation, who really aren't doing anything about the peoples abuse in where The Blue Suns are located and instead gets Selena to actually come help out in person, along with bringing with word that they will go after The Blue Sun and remove them from the land permanently.
They train the people how to fight, the two take out The Blue Suns communication, and they sabotage the Blue Suns Vehicles. The Entire New Army Rage War against The Blue Sun and defeat them with Roy getting his well needed revenge against the leader of the Blue Suns, Dennis.
Ending:
After The Blue Sun are destroyed, through a mix of loud and stealth missions, you must hunt the people who murdered your wife. The sniper and his associates who will be protecting him. Through ten or so missions Roy pursues his killer but his mysterious killer manages to get away every-time until the sniper makes a mistake and reveals himself. It turns out it was Roy's brother. There was a contract that was floating around that people wanted Roy dead. Since contracts are permanent (and there have been waves, upon waves, and upon waves people lining up to take a shot at killing Roy) Roy's brother, Cole thought it would be best if he took him out an if he could give the money to his family and to The Federation. You are then given a choice, take out Cole, or leave him alive.
If you leave him alive, you cut him off ending your rampage. Roy leaves the town, and slightly rekindles his relationship with Selena. Roy plans on trying to get his life together with a sense of peace finally resonating with his character.
If you kill him, you cut him out ending your rampage. Roy leaves and town, and tarnishes his relationship with Selena, Roy plans on trying to get his life together with a sense of justice and self deluded vindication that has been covering this violent man this entire time.
The Game's Gameplay:
Halo meets Borderlands without the RPG Elements
The Games Extra Features:
Fun Quake 2 Esque Battle Arena Mode
And An Assassin's Creed Based Multiplayer Mode Inspired By Selena's Job
The Games Critical Reception:
The game has been well received! The story mode was given much praise for it's excellent humor and balance of cliche's and jolly fun characters. The ending however has been heavily criticized for the forcing of drama and not being all that invested in Roy's character. The gameplay has been seen as fun and responsive, but nothing groundbreaking. Health still works like health, Rampage suit mode, still works like a rampage suit mode. And overall that's not where the game shines. Multiplayer is a blast and the Assassin's Creed thing is brilliant. But overall, the game by critics seem to give it and 8 average out of ten..
The Games Sales:
The game sells incredibly. The game reaches 500,000 copies in a year, paying off a lot of how much it took to make and enough to consider expanding the company.
Either way, whoever wants to respond and add to next chapter of the company and wouldn't mind giving it a badass name, let's do it and yeah, thanks for playing!
