I want to talk about something everyone in the industry seems desperate to avoid at the moment. Yes. That's right. I want to talk about gender politics. Why is no one discussing gender in video games? Clearly gender is very problematic, and especially in video games, yet it seems like no one in the gaming community wants to talk about the important issues. Gender politics in video games must be tackled head on. We must be unrelenting in our pursuit of what is right.
So, to all the gamers out there, I deliver this message unto you. Gender politics can't be ignored. It must be discussed and debated everywhere all the time or else we'll never progress as a people. For example there are segregated bathrooms in MGS2 and Raiden gets called a freak for choosing to identify as a female instead of a male and using the women's restroom and his gf calls him a freak, which is a form of domestic abuse.
