So, Paladins

For what there is of it as the moment, this game is pretty fun. I've played at least one match with all my initially unlocked characters and one I unlocked, and I've enjoyed it quite a lot. It's not especially deep, and all the maps are very small and linear, but shooting and abilities are all satisfying to use. So, have you played it and what do you think?

Note: I've not played Overwatch or BattleBorn.

I havent played overwatch but I have played battleborn. Paladins is pretty fun, Im enjoying it enough to get the founders pack. There isn't a ton yet but hires tends to be good at adding a bunch of content. Plus, they have one of the best free to play models around. I think I liked battleborn more, but mainly because there is more there right now. Plus it has more character than Paladins. While I like Paladins, I dont think it will ever really have any kind of lore.

I haven't played Paladins yet, but after watching the trailer I was shocked by how much it resembles overwatch, to the point where I think one of the characters might even be using some stolen Roadhog animations.

Overwatch and Paladins players seem to now be feuding over whether Paladins ripped off Overwatch, with Paladins players saying that it was in development before Overwatch was announced, and Overwatch players saying that it doesn't matter that it was in development when it so obviously looks like a lot of the designs were specifically made to mimic things that are in Overwatch.

Personally I don't think I'll play it. Even if it's good I already have Overwatch and this just seems too similar to it, regardless of whether it ripped off overwatch or not. Plus I'm not into the free to play aspect, makes me assume that most of the people who play it probably aren't very good.

I've played for about six hours now, and while I do like it, I think it has a couple of balance issues, namely that Pip is basically dead-weight, nobody plays as Grohk, and Ruckus and Fernando are nigh-on unstoppable death machines.

It looks like it might be fun. Kinda like a better Overwatch, as it's free to play for what looks like roughly the same amount and type of content that Blizzard expects me to pay $60 for. I might grab it when it comes to consoles (Pretty sure i heard that there is a console version coming), assuming that it stays free to play

I played a lot lately as Fernando, but for sure he is not a death-machine. Great tank character helping others to take a point a covers others to kill enemies for you.
Ruckus also is a very easy character to kill, like, very easy. Slow the sh*t out of him and shoot him from distance is 100% positive will die in seconds.

I watched Jim Sterling's video of this, well most of it, and my reaction was "oh, its another one of these". So I won't be checking it out any further.

I am fine if you like this sort of thing, but it does nothing for me. I played one match of the Battlewatch beta and was bored long before I got stuck in some scenery and the rest of my team got killed. And as for the Overbourne beta, I got killed three times before I turned it off and deleted it from my PS4 bored out of my skull. I just don't get the appeal of this type of game.

Possible [even though calling someone moron isn't nice...], but I always play as a support mostly, so teamwork is a key for our Victory.
Support from close, I choose always am Fernando.
Support from far, I choose always the sniper girl.
If players have plans to play solo.....then don't. DON'T!!! All players must use by fullest their abilities to play aweome [like me ].
In other words, even Ruckus can be a beast if have people helping him all the time. Alone is a piece of sh*t [in my opinon].

Also Pip and Grohk, The Guardians of the Galaxy Duo, are very good. Again, team work is the way to play. Having a Fernando and Gronk using his special, they become a death-team.

However I will say this: Bomb King is a BBAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDD character! I bought him and I played with him once! So bad....
Maybe other players aregood with him.

Haven't played it yet. Signed up for the beta for ps4. Taking bets on if I get in or not. Haven't gotten in a beta yet, couldn't even get in the Overwatch open beta. Will Paladins break the streak?

Played it and the visual chaos, huge ass hitboxes and the "rts from first person perspective" feel, really puts me off. I didn't play Overwatch, but this looks just like it, only much poorer.

So... I decided to buy the founders' pack and I've pretty much played a couple of rounds with just about every character except Barik and Evie. My only question so far is: WHY THE FUCK DOES NOBODY EVER PLAY AS BUCK????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. No, seriously, he is awesome in maps where there is a lot of highground and side-paths like Jaguar Falls or all the temple maps for that matter.

And holy crap Grover and Skye need serious nerfs right now, both of them are extremely annoying to play against.

Edit: Played with Barik and Evie, neither are on my favorites list sadly.

No, no. He is a bad character. Fun as hell to play as but still a fucking bad character; his bombs are underpowered even when you manage to attatch them to someone and they're near useless as mines. His only useful ability is the stun bomb, I adore placing that thing next to the current objective and watch as the entire enemy team forgets about said objective and flees like ants from it.

With all of my honesty I don't even bother to look in Buck cause of his blandness visual....He is just a monk with a gun...
Skye is indeed a very good character, however you need to be skillfull with her abilities to make her work. I tried her couple of times, but I just couldn't be focus all the time with her timers of her abilities.
Never played with Barik or Evie, but I can see Barik become really annoying as an enemy. Again, Fernando with Barik can be a good team together a shield baffers.

Eh, I tried it but didn't think much of it. It might have just been the characters they let you have free (of which I only had any fun with one) but it just felt like it was lacking in depth compared to a moba and lacking in wacky shenanigans compared to Overwatch. Still plenty of room for it to grow though so maybe I'll give it another go in a month or 2.

Overall, I like the game. Theme, style etc. are all across the map and don't have much consistency, but whatever. I didn't feel like spending 60 bucks on Overwatch, so I'm pretty glad this came along. I'm level 14 now, and I've been having a blast so far.

I have seen bomb kings that dominated games. He's really a counter against tanks. If they're not paying attention and he gets to attach multiple bombs to them from behind, he can take them out in a single detonation. He can also dominate a lot of territory by placing bombs around the payload or chokepoints, making it hard for the enemies to break through. He needs a good vantage point though. And he's most definitely hard to play. I haven't tried, but I'd probably be awful at it.

Personally, I play support or tanks. That's the most sensible thing for me to do, since my aim is dogshit meaing I'm wasted on carries, but my tactical sense is above average (which isn't saying much compared to most players tbh) so I can do a good job supporting my team or controlling the objective. Dunno what my winrates are, but I've been losing very few games recently, so I think it seems to be working.
