So the Bioshock Remaster for PC is out and quite frankly it's a soggy pile of underwater trash

The games feel like mostly just a retexture of the originals with a slight tweak to physics (the changes seem more evident in the first game than the second though) and definitely noticeable at 1080p. As for gameplay, it's same as it was back then and I feel it holds up quite decently for what it is.
Cool, I didn't even realize the one I got on Steam reads, "remastered!" I will give it a shot.

Does the anime have this great looking animation from beginning to end?
Dude seriously, send a PM or post something on topic.

Well, I don't have a spud for a GPU, but to get true 4K, I'd think I'd need at least a 1070 to get good gameplay. I wonder if at 1080, would I see a difference in remastered vs. original (which I have from Steam). Likely see if there is a youtube comparison.

Curious: do people find the game play of the first 2 holds up? Hard to imagine it does after Infinite which, with its sky hook mechanic, has ruined me for such games forever.

I take that as a yes ;)

But on topic, eh Bioshock for me as aged badly, the graphics still looks like it was made of clay, the gameplay, especially the combat feels repetitive, and the morale themes are very one sided. Kill the little girl or save the little girl.

I may find it to be that (repetitive) but I just restarted it. It is weak sauce, even enhanced, compared to Bioshock Infinite, but I am liking it so far.

I have an older card (HD 7970) and it is giving me crazy fraps numbers even at highest settings (it went over 400 at one point. Is that even a thing?) But it also dives down into the low 100s. Were this on an even older card, going from 60 FPS dipping to 18 FPS, that would be a buggy outrage. As it is, plays smoothly, looks good enough and I just gave the one two punch to my first splicer. I think I got it in a humble bundle. Worth playing.
