Well, I dunno. I am not in the thread making game anymore. Maybe the title is all they need to start a discussion. Hell, around here one word cause cause a storm.Schrodinger said:Ok, but so what? "Mediocre summer blockbuster released" is so... meh. If the OP wanted to go down that road, at least pretend to start a discussion after.Parasondox said:Seeing failure is a fetish for some these days.Schrodinger said:...And?

@Netscape can give some pointers there; loads of bullet points asking leading questions seems to give the semblance of a discussion without diminishing the integrity of the lecture for what it is.
Annnnnnnnnnnnd clearly this justifies the hilariously overblown outrage people had at the mere idea of lady Ghostbusters, because ghostbusting is a MAN'S job and besides, women aren't funny anyway!Schrodinger said:...And?

Weren't most just people complaining the movie seemed bad and unfinny? I haven't been following this too closely but all I heard was people talking about lowest common demlnominator jokes and disrespect for the original. If anything, bunching all those normal complaints with the one 12 year old trolling who said that its a man's job to bust ghosts or whatever does more to stir the pot of drama.shrekfan246 said:Annnnnnnnnnnnd clearly this justifies the hilariously overblown outrage people had at the mere idea of lady Ghostbusters, because ghostbusting is a MAN'S job and besides, women aren't funny anyway!Schrodinger said:...And?
Basically, this is likely just trying to stir the pot of sociopolitical drama once again, in a very "I-told-you-so" way.
No, actually, it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than "one 12 year old trolling", and the vast majority of them were grown men.Dreiko said:Weren't most just people complaining the movie seemed bad and unfinny? I don't know, such comments ring unserious joking to me. There's a huge wide internet out there, and it's very easy for people to ignore or otherwise never see the bits that hold things which would prove unpleasant to them. While the AVGN video might have received a bit of an overblown response itself, there have been many, many articles and comments made by actual, real, totally honest sexist jackasses who had no reasoning behind their anger other than "because women". Or "because feminism". Or "because SJWs". Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, and honestly I'm really tired of getting into arguments about this sort of stuff with people whose entire position is predicated on the fact that they haven't seen something and therefore don't believe it.Dreiko said:I don't know, such comments ring unserious joking to me. The last thing about this movie I saw was that one video the angry videogame nerd did which was the most normal video in the world and somehow people managed to interpret that to be sexist and against the female cast too when he barely mentioned them at all so I am skeptical here.
Well, if it is such a massive outpouring of hate, one would expect to have seen some of it. Couple that with stuff like the aforementioned video being called sexist and one can't help but think if all of the complained about problems actually were similarly inoffensive comments.shrekfan246 said:There's a huge wide internet out there, and it's very easy for people to ignore or otherwise never see the bits that hold things which would prove unpleasant to them. I dunno. How many of those were deemed bad by picking the only two negative reviews on Metacritic?undeadsuitor said:So it's just like every other super late sequel/remake of an old cult classic comedy then
