Ok, but so what? "Mediocre summer blockbuster released" is so... meh. If the OP wanted to go down that road, at least pretend to start a discussion after.

@Netscape can give some pointers there; loads of bullet points asking leading questions seems to give the semblance of a discussion without diminishing the integrity of the lecture for what it is.
Well, I dunno. I am not in the thread making game anymore. Maybe the title is all they need to start a discussion. Hell, around here one word cause cause a storm.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd clearly this justifies the hilariously overblown outrage people had at the mere idea of lady Ghostbusters, because ghostbusting is a MAN'S job and besides, women aren't funny anyway!

Basically, this is likely just trying to stir the pot of sociopolitical drama once again, in a very "I-told-you-so" way.

EDIT: I'm putting it here too [https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ghostbusters_2016/] that the OP is misrepresenting what the actual critical opinion of the film is.

You know what? 30 Days of Night is a good movie. I like. I always thought Vampires hated the cold but nice thought.

Weren't most just people complaining the movie seemed bad and unfinny? I haven't been following this too closely but all I heard was people talking about lowest common demlnominator jokes and disrespect for the original. If anything, bunching all those normal complaints with the one 12 year old trolling who said that its a man's job to bust ghosts or whatever does more to stir the pot of drama.

No, actually, it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than "one 12 year old trolling", and the vast majority of them were grown men.

EDIT: And besides, what is it with people around here taking obviously hyperbolic statements and then using them as if I'm being 100% serious? Christ alive, guys, as stupid as I thought the reaction to Ghostbusters was, I'm not saying literally every person who ever complained was only saying those things, and it's absurd that I even need to specify that lest the hordes come crashing down on me for daring to criticize white men.

I don't know, such comments ring unserious joking to me. Be they few or many.

The last thing about this movie I saw was that one video the angry videogame nerd did which was the most normal video in the world and somehow people managed to interpret that to be sexist and against the female cast too when he barely mentioned them at all so I am skeptical here.

There's a huge wide internet out there, and it's very easy for people to ignore or otherwise never see the bits that hold things which would prove unpleasant to them. While the AVGN video might have received a bit of an overblown response itself, there have been many, many articles and comments made by actual, real, totally honest sexist jackasses who had no reasoning behind their anger other than "because women". Or "because feminism". Or "because SJWs". Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, and honestly I'm really tired of getting into arguments about this sort of stuff with people whose entire position is predicated on the fact that they haven't seen something and therefore don't believe it.

EDIT: So, because this thread is inevitably going to spiral out of control with or without my help and I've already started helping it anyway, I'm not going to be getting any further into this with anyone.

Oh Christ's blood, let's not get into SJWs. I've actually had to leave a couple of sites because of the constant sniping.

Well, if it is such a massive outpouring of hate, one would expect to have seen some of it. Couple that with stuff like the aforementioned video being called sexist and one can't help but think if all of the complained about problems actually were similarly inoffensive comments.

Also, I wouldn't bunch up the clearly sexist "because women" people with the other two groups. I don't think not being a fan of "SJW directing" or whatver means you hate people or are instantly a jerk.

You may have come to the wrong place.

As for the topic, sounds like the 'This is a soulless cash grab using the torn off face of a publicly loved IP' faction of the internet was correct.

Wait, that was my faction! Whee!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have mushrooms to harvest for dinner.

Clearly, these critics are all a bunch of basement-dwelling, mouth-breathing, woman-hating stereotypes.

So it's just like every other super late sequel/remake of an old cult classic comedy then
I dunno. How many of those were deemed bad by picking the only two negative reviews on Metacritic?
