Since we're not getting our demo on 360 (thanks a lot, Microshaft), who has it? And what do you think? How accessible is it? The fighting looks quite visceral and satisfying, but it's not as accessible as MvC3, from the look of things, where making combos is about imagination and improvisation, more often than just rote learning. This one looked really jerky and primitive, like the dial-a-combo system used in Deadly Alliance and Deception, but seems to have become smoother and more intuitive since then. Is that true?

I've been playing it since yesterday afternoon, and I have to say, I'm very impressed. Putting it in terms of past MK games, I'd say it plays closest to MKII, though it's much more streamlined. The controls are still a little jerky, the way MK games have always been, but it's the kind of thing you can learn to work with, if that makes any sense. You get used to it.

Excellent game if you're into MK or willing to adapt, very highly recommended.

I heard from a friend it's decent, but not on par with other fighters as the controls are a little stiff.

I mean, I'll probably get it anyway (big MK fan), but I am aware of how cringingly awful many aspects of MK have been outside of the fatalities. It's really ncie to see a series I have a great amount of (unjustified) affection for actually grow into something I can love for reasons other than getting to brutally execute someone at the end, but I don't want to have to learn every combo by way of sheer memorisation. (then again, SFIV doesn't have very intuitive combos and I love that game dearly). What would you compare it to? What other fighting game is the actual combat engine most similar to?
