A friend of mine started a local radio station (about 60 000-70 000 possible listeners) and asked me to write a show. The three program-leaders are already decided and theyre all humorous.
The show is on 10-14 mondays to fridays. Its in swedish and we do not have censorship. We have gotten some contribution from the municipality, but we will need commersials too.

I thought i started of with my ideas for the show then you just fire away..

I want it to be a satirical show, music every 5 minutes and news every hour.
The first hour. The hosts discuss local-, national- and world wide news in a humorous and ironic way. With some pre recorded sketches.

Second hour: Here i want to have a everyday subject. Like mondays Culture, tuesdays Sports, wednesdays Politics and so on. If we cant get a guest to the show we call up interesting people for the subject.

Third to fourth hour: Here i think we should focus more on music. Have local bands, singer songwriters and so on. I do not think they are hard to get to the show since they do need all the attention they can get.

So there you have it. Very rough at the moment but we have a lot of time on our hands. The preliminary start date is 1 Oktober.

Have an industry opinion:

Humour/comedy is generally awful on radio. I have no idea why so many aspiring DJs and show presenters are interested in it, I can't think of a single example of it being implemented well. At the radio station I work at, when we look for new staff we screen out all the people who want to do "comedy shows" and make damn sure they never are allowed behind a desk. The only way you're ever going to get anything "funny" on radio is through personality of delivery, not through irony (which doesn't work well on radio for the same reason it never works on internet forums or sms) or joke content or whatever. So it's all down to personalities. DJs who are good at their job can be humourous without using "comedy" or "satirical" content.

Other than that your suggestions are fine. What you will find though is that music completely takes over - a whole hour of news is a hell of a lot of work, it's a hundred times easier to play music and to get musos in and talking/playing. The everyday subject stuff is a good idea but what you need are access to specialists in these areas who are also good communicators to make that work well, otherwise it's just a bunch of also-ran opinion.

Phailhaus, never heard of it. I´ll check it out!

I think news every hour is more or less vital for us to get the local listeners. We have a deal with the states radio channels so we can cut to their newscasts
