Today, 4 freaks from the Westboro Baptist "Church" showed up in my town. There were 4 of them carrying signs with great messages like "Californication" and "God hates California". What made me the most upset was the fact there were two 4 year old boys holding up some signs. Those poor kids are going to be hated their entire lives just because they were brainwashed by their evil parents into thinking God hates everyone. Anyway, I was just walking down the street with my dog when I passed by them. I ignored them, not even giving them a glance when the mom turned and said to me "You are going to hell, young man! You and the entire generation of brute beasts raised from birth with the satanic lie that God loves everyone!".

I ignored them and continued walking, figuring it was the best option against these ignorant shit-brains. The mom yelled at me again, "You can't walk away from your sins! God is going to send you to hell!". I turned around and said to her as politely as I could, "Excuse me ma'am, but you don't even know me. I don't really think going around harassing people is the right way to win souls to God. I advise you not to have your kids out here as well. They probably don't even know what a 'fag' is and you have them out here holding signs that they probably can't even read. I ask you kindly to please not be out here, as you're upsetting many people and not even preaching the correct word of God." She completely ignored my statement and said completely irrelevantly, "God hates all California fags and fag enablers!". I figured that this was the right time to leave.

As I was walking back from the park, a large group of about 20 people were surrounding them, shielding the outside world from their false, perverted message of the Bible. They were completely trapped, and even though some cops were trying to break up the circle the people remained tight. Eventually, the members gave up and ran back to their van. However, some anonymous hero had slashed all of their tires and removed their license plates, as well as cause all of the oil from the van to leak out. One of the Westboro moms screamed at the cops, "Some punk vandalized our car! Do your damn job and find them!". A cop, clearly annoyed by the members quickly asked the crowd, "Does anyone know who did this?". Then they said to the members, "Well, no one has come forth with info. We'll start an official investigation and try to find out who did this." One of the Westboro moms screamed at the cop, "You lazy oath-breaking bastard! You need to do your job, or I'm reporting you to your captain!". Although this scene was too hilarious, I had to get home. According to one of my friends who was there, they ended up later being towed and fined 5,000$ for apparently breaking a window at the police station. Finally, the people in my town have the guts to stand up to these morons.

She really said that to you, and the cop? Damn, that's just crazy. Being angry at the police and then breaking one of their windows is just stupid.

That's interesting and all, but isn't tracking their every move and giving them play-by-play coverage wherever they go only helping them accomplish what they want? Every bit of criticism they see and hear is only validation to them, and giving them notoriety only spreads their "word" further. Why not just ignore them to death? I mean there's, what 72 of them? That's no army. That's hardly enough to make a decent mob. If we stop being their voice and broadcasting their actions, they will no longer have the impact they've made us think they have.

Beautiful. Although technically the law was broken, I'm glad the local law enforcement looked the other way this time. WBC needs to recognize that Americans have had enough of them. They won't of course but one can dream...

Californication sounds like an awesome name for a band. Or maybe a porno. Anyway its the WBC what do you expect? Sanity?

EDIT: I am well aware of the existence of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Thanks for pointing out that they have a song titled Californiacation which is almost identical to Californication. Thanks guise I know.

You know, someday I want to find out when they protest near me, and when they do, I'm going to go over there, and I'm going to give them some

cookies that I baked before I left. That's right, I'm going to give them cookies. Confuse the hell out of them. heh heh.

I would hardly call vandalism and destruction of property "heroic" to say the least. Even in the case of the WBC.

I don't like the WBC, but dickishness does not justify dickishness.

Not that I advocate vandalism, but that story had me rolling. You should have done this:
best video ever. i used to do similar things to jahovas witness folks that would come round with their booklets. cause any time i've been apporached by one they ask if i've found god, of course not like oh there he is, but i would make this insane look and run behind my house yelling "NOOOOOO I HAVE NOT!!! LETS GO LOOK FOR HIM!" several seconds later "NOPE! NOT HERE!" and so on until they left

I don't like them but they do have freedom of speech. I just don't think they should expect people to let them get their way. Honestly, what goes through their brains when they act they way that they do? Do they really expect that someone will walk up to them and say, "Thank you for opening my eyes to the truth?"
I remember they protested my friend's play. We came up with the idea of him walking out and handing them copies of the new testament and saying, "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth."

You didn't hit the women in the face? Man you are very calm. I would of punched that ***** in the face and said "Condemn that whore".... or I would of just looked at her and said "May Allah enlighten you" and just walk away.

(Sorry if you follow Islam and that isn't how you say that)

Honestly, I do think that the people who slashed their tires and such went to far, both in the fact they did do something against the law to people who didn't really deserve it in my opinion and that they made it so if the people wanted to leave, they couldn't. That means they'll be around LONGER you fools! I say I don't think they deserved it because, as much as it pains me to say so, they have freedom of speech and freedom of assembly as well. Of course, the woman did go to far when she yelled at the police officer, but even that doesn't warrent criminal action. Though breaking the window does mean they should get thrown into jail. Though, again, that keeps them there longer.

I also feel bad for the children. They're being raised by parents who, in a world where things were just and right, would be locked up in an insane asylum. They're filling their children with the same BS as they live by. Of course, I suppose you could say that all parents everywhere, with every religion or lack thereof does that.

That's one of the funniest stories I have ever heard. I especially enjoyed the part about the "anonymous hero". If only there were more anonymous heroes out there to do the same thing.

I admire your restraint. If somebody had shouted those things at me I wouldn't have responded as calmly as you did. I definitely would have lost it.

Trouble with them is you have to be VERY careful not to break any laws, as they pretty much live off of suing people.

With any luck whoever caved in one of their windows got away, but they'll be trying to find out who, not to press regular charges, but to sue for tens of thousands of dollars.

If only you'd known, you could have tons of people to show up with Red Hot Chili Pepper t shirts and played 'Californication' on a stereo, and completely confuse their message with one of just liking a band.

If only we could cause them some financial damage each time, and avoid getting sued by them, eventually they'd run out of money.

I think it was Stewart Lee, on hearing that some guy got sued for preaching racial hatred, that 'it's about time these people put their money where their mouth is, they CLAIM to really hate another group of people, but do they really? Do they hate them to the tune of half a million dollars?

I know there's a freedom of speech issue here, but imo it's not even about freedom of speech, some of that 'Church' might actually believe the BS being spouted, but I'm pretty sure the core of the family knows its all BS and it's just a money making scam. I'm really not convinced they believe any of the shit they come out with.

1 Be utterly reviled by humanity.
2 Get suing people.
3 ???
4 Profit!

Ok, now I may be wrong about their personal beliefs, but you DO know that their entire reason for doing this is NOT to spread a twisted message of the bible, but is actually to get money? Think about it. They go around spewing so much hate that it can't be ignored. It's actually quite ludicrous that anyone could truthfully believe even half the shit they spew. They talk so much hate, the kind that offends them beyond anything else, the kind of hate they can't ignore, and it pisses everyone off. They get angry. They assault the WBC people.

Sued.

WBC makes their money off of legal winnings, that's how they can fund airplane flights all over the country. The WBC people know the laws and rights of what their doing to the fucking letter. They know exactly how far to go and how far YOU can go, so the minute you step over the line you didn't know was there, your ass is sued. I'm fairly sure they video tape their protests to see if they can find any misstep.

If the vandal had been caught, WBC probably would have taken that vandalism charge and turned it into battery, assault, theft, etc, etc. You know, milking it for all its worth. It's not that nobody has the balls to stand up to them. Plenty of people would be glad to take them into an alley and finish them off. It's just nobody has the balls to stand up to them without getting sued. Either they don't do anything, or they slash the tires like mr. anon there.

Back on topic, what they personally believe, God only knows. But I highly doubt it's what they say they believe.

EDIT: Woop, ninja'd by one post. darn.

Nice, I mean, sure the law was broken and the person who perpetrated the crime, I think it was totally awesome. Of course the fact that the WBC people freaked out and got a fine, makes it even better

It is already the title of a TV show starring David Duchovny.

Pretty sure they just made that after hearing a RHCP song.
