So what brings you to the escapist?

It's currently 3:20AM where I am and I have to work in a few hours. Been looking things up for the past few hours and trying to sort out various... challenges I have to confront. I find myself on The Escapist and post on a few threads when it dawns on me I haven't posted regularly for a good 8 months now. I conclude I'm drawn to 'escape' the insane stress I'm under at the moment. I've noticed that various 'forum celebrities' have disappeared since I was last here. Times change it seems.

Anyhoo, the purpose of this thread is quite simple. What brings you to the escapist? Are you a regular? Do you read the columns? Do you come here for the news? Yahtzee? Or do you come here for the banter? To pass the time? Or to communicate idly about things that aren't that important but the thrill of a stranger having something in common with you brings some validation to your procrastinating? Or is it simply to escape like me?

I'm here for the forums (usually,) and because this is quickly becoming the main source of L.R.R. Crew goodness.

The Pony group and the posted content. Also the news. And the Forums. Everything brings me here.

Originally the content and the forums. Nowadays I am here because of the MLP group.

Let me answer your questions...

What brings you to the escapist?

Sometime to pass time, also I've invested too much time here to stop.

Are you a regular?

I'd say so.

Do you read the columns?

Nope.

Do you come here for the news?

Nope, but I at least read them.

Yahtzee?

Original reason I came, just not the current reason.

Or do you come here for the banter?

Usually not.

Or to communicate idly about things that aren't that important but the thrill of a stranger having something in common with you brings some validation to your procrastinating?

Hell yes.

Or is it simply to escape like me?

That too.

Came for the Yahtzee reviews a friend showed me, stayed for them and Extra Credits, post with the people on the forums because generally this community is highly informed and interesting to talk and debate with.

Was usually on it all the time watching apocalypse lane, unforgotten realms, and doomsday arcade (one of my favourites). now just only watching zero punctuation and replying to some threads i find interesting.

I consume most of everything on the escapist.

Most video series, most columns, most articles, most news; I often browse the forums, & occasionally post.

Yahtzee brought me here originally, but he's only a small part of what keeps me here.

Like many others will probably say, I discovered Yahtzee. Then one day I saw a thread on the side and thought to myself "Hmm... that looks like an interesting discussion." And then the transformation was complete. (Yes I come here a lot to procrastinate too.)

I'm here because...um...shit, it's easier to come up with reasons I don't come here. And 99% of those are because of physical issues like chores or connection issues.
I simply enjoy this site. The content, community, all of it. If I could mainline this place, I'd be in heaven. Until my body told my mind to go fuck itself and died, anyway.

I come here for zero punctuation and some of the other videos. If the videos left I would probably come here less and less until I don't come at all. The forums are okay but I'm sick of all the repeating threads. Though without them the forum would die.
