I was just think about this and thought "Hey I wonder what other people's are". So whats your dream job?

Mine would be Super-Hero, but since were atleast 10-15 years away from super powers, I'd say doing some animation work for Marvel, like an Ant-Man cartoon (Eric O'Gradey) or doing animation work for Double Fine Productions, Lke say, some pretty cartoony cutscenes for a future project.

Dream job? Something along the lines of what Michael Palin is doing these days. I absolutely love travelling, so going on those massive journies and making documentaries on them would be great.

Failing that, I wouldnt mind being a foreign correspondant, either for the beeb or a respectable newspaper.

A nice, well paying 8-16 job in an office would be good. Family is the priority here. =P

Being a professional critic or actor, critic as its getting paid to be as opinionated as you can and actor because its pretty much getting paid to play cops and robbers.

General of a Roman Legion. But that's obviously not going to happen, so possibly something in biomedical research? Or failing that, a gardener or postman.

I don't have one as I dream of retirement.

That said, my favorite job was being a chat based customer service/sales representative with CheckFree and later Geek Squad. I suppose if I could do any job again it would be one of those.

I like the idea of running a hobby store (D&D and Magic), but the reality of a job like that is awful mostly due to the crazy hours involved with sole proprietorship. I'm not prepared to make any job my whole life for 5-10 years before I might become successful enough to manage normal hours and live a sane life.

Project director for a major game developer. I am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades (good at a lot, great at little), and I like to help out on a lot of different ends of a project. I lack the skills to be a great coder/scripter/etc. and I've generally been a decent leader in other fields, so it would be fun for me to do this kind of thing.

Alternative : science professor at a major university. Dual-majoring has its benefits.

A professional food critic. Get paid to fly all over the world and eat top class food.

And you know what? Game reviewing would not be as fun as it appears, if you seriously thought about all the components that make up a game review.

I have my dream job, working for a good fair boss, designing interesting things and learning all the time.

The job itself doesn't matter so much as the people I work with, I've always found that - even when working in a retail job.

The job I'm training for at the moment I guess (Operating Department Practitioner). Definitely has it's downsides though, starting at 7.45am on normal day shifts is a killer for me (even 1 and half years into training and I still end up in 15 minutes early to neck 2-3 coffees).

And the night shifts have the potential to be tiring (worst one saw me with my mentor and a Dr transferring a patient to a neuro unit at about 3-4 in the morning and not returning to the hospital until 8am and this was after the surgeons were operating on someone else until 2.30am).

Outside of that though, it can be quite rewarding at times.

I'm waiting to hear if I got my dream job... Librarian in a small city, doing all aspects of the job, including teaching. The library is new and full of windows overlooking the river, and the people seem really good. Had a phone conference interview on Tuesday... The wait is agony.

Other than that, I've always wanted to open a book/board game store in a smaller city, too, where kids and older people can go to play games and relax. ... So, basically, a library. In a small city/town...
