Why is it that as America plummets into an economic depression, prices for everything skyrocketing, and people being kicked out of their houses, that more and more people, specifically politicians, continuously blame video games for violence.

Lets face it, whether it desensitizes you from violence or not, most games are so far fetched that only a 4 year old would try it. At one point, politicians were bashing Final Fantasy 7 for its violence. Whats someone going to do? Cut their arm off, take steroids, cuss a lot, get a gun where there hand should be and say they're Barret? Or run around as a cross-dressing prick with huge spiky hair, and a sword bigger than god, and say their Cloud? I mean honestly.

Yes I realize that games like GTA promote realistic violence, but honestly. Politicians shouldn't bash the game or its designers. Get the parents, though I know thats been said before.

On a final note, I would like to point out that, more than likely, at least 5 or 6 of those politicians, probably play, or let their kids play, the same games they bash. Resounding middle finger to them. Any opinions I'll gladly listen. And yes. I'm well aware my avatar contradicts my arguement, but i like how it looks.
