So to start things of on a happy tone,I'm gonna pose this question:Has society ever let you down?I know I was let down a heck.What is your take in this?(I'm talking to you.Yes,YOU!)

Nope. To be honest though I'm not poor or from a disadvantaged background so it's less likely it would.

Got hit by a car,nobody lifted a finger to call the ambulance.I had to f*cking crawl to my phone to call for an ambulance that arrived after half an hour.

Unlucky, I guess you must have been surrounded by a load of jerks at the time. Look on the bright-side, you're evidently still alive and you can't have been too bad injured otherwise you wouldn't have been able to call the ambulance yourself.

Hell yes it has. Government, corporations, people in general... people are encouraged to be weak and easily led nowadays, very rarely do they help a stranger in need, because most strangers in need are just trying to take advantage of them... and they're afraid of that stranger. Society has let us all down by its very nature, unfortunately.
...don't get me wrong, I'm not proposing a fix for the situation. If I knew of one that might work, I wouldn't be such an Escapist.

Nice, I bet the hospital must have given you loads of quiet time to think. Anyway, you're home now, life can continue, etc etc... it's all about perpective. You've still much time left alive to achieve your dreams, so why bother about the past?

Yeah, I don't doubt that would be difficult.

For myself, I can't say that I've had it hard. Things have been a struggle sometimes, sure, but over-all I have very very little to complain about. Especially in comparison to so many other people in the world. I have way more to be happy about, so I just think about those things.

I don't think I have much of a right to feel let down by society. In retrospect, my life so far has been pretty good. The Australian government is far from perfect, but it does some good things for young people. I've got an education and a future. I live in relative safety. Sure, the people suck, as do many other things, but as I like to say, it could be worse. I haven't personally been let down too badly by society, but I can't overlook the fact that it has let others down.
