Yes, I did. Sadly, it did not help.Aerosteam said:I haven't heard of that problem, I assume you tried the usual? (Uninstall, re-download, etc.)
I am using laptop, but I'll try this troubleshooting solution. Though if anyone else has different solutions, I am more then willing to listen.MC1980 said:This is what I could find, it seems to be quite rare:

There doesn't seem to be a specific fix for it yet. I would advise using the Steam forums for things like this.
Personally, while I haven't run into this issue, I did have an issue where the settings launcher would crash, but running it through Steam fixed it.
*If you're not running the game on a laptop and are using a DX11 compatible card* Have you gone through the usual troubleshooting stuff? Like 'reinstall game in a different drive/folder', 'manually install redistributables' and shit?
I have a Nvidia Geforce 540M Cuda 2GB. I confirmed that it uses Nvidia GPU. Still, no dice.MC1980 said:Do you have an Nvidia or AMD GPU? Maybe that is the problem, the post by the dev said laptops with dedicated cards might try to run the game through the onboard Intel HD one, causing it to crash because the Intel one doesn't support DX11. You'd need to go into your Nvidia/AMD control panel and make sure that it uses your dedicated GPU.Mister K said:Yes, I did. I've downloaded the Beta patch_100-Patch V 1.1 (The one you can get by going to properties > beta).MC1980 said:You should maybe give that a shot then. Though, it would be very weird. The game doesn't have any sort of DRM as far as I know, sans the basic Steam api one, and that shouldn't cause anything like that. The reason for the crash must be something very obscure and weird if that's the case.Mister K said:I have a Nvidia Geforce 540M Cuda 2GB. I confirmed that it uses Nvidia GPU. I may not be an expert, but it seems to me that the problem is not in the hardware. One of the Steam users wrote that they've... acquired ZTD for PC through other means and it worked perfectly, while legitimately bought Steam version has the same issues as mine.
Hmm, if you're going to try it, you should do it in 2 steps to maybe narrow what the problem was. First, try the, uh Steam bypass, on your legitimate install, to see if that does it by itself.
I also read somewhere that going to your Steam\SteamApps\common\Zero Escape\_CommonRedist\OpenAL\2.0.7.0 directory and installing OpenAL manually might help. (_CommonRedist is the directory where the mandatory redistributables and files are stored if you want to install them manually. Steam always installs those after you install the game, but it sometimes messes it up for no discernible reason.)
Thanks, I hope so too.MC1980 said:That's good to hear. Have fun! I hope your experience will not be sour from here on. (Though, it's weird, because the beta patch was said to fix a different issue where the screen would turn white and you couldn't do anything. Nothing about the crashing. Weird bugs are weird. The audio issue actually happened to me a couple of times, it was really crappy when the music would just cut out in the middle of an emotional scene. It would usually fix itself once it started playing a different audio track though. Glad that got sorted out.)
