What the fuck he is talking about? Am I just some uncultured moron, or is this some kind of response to an interwebz drama?

He's doing some kind of straight-man reading to Rollin' by Limp Bizkit

Fuck if I know why. The song's old.

I think the brits also have some sort of fascination with the band. Again, I don't know shit.

I think not. it's just meant to be absurdist humor. if it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work. doesn't for me either.

Sigh*

Because a british accent makes everything better?

I think Break Stuff or Nookie would have been a better single to do this with. Either would have been far funnier. Rollin' was such a trash single off Chocolate Starfish.

Because he was making that silly voice while he was playing Gremlin's Inc. in the Co-Optional Lounge and he suddenly remembered that song and found out that he remembered it in it's entirety so of course he did the whole think, they thought it was funny and they made it into a video because of that, that's pretty much it.

This is it. There's no deeper meaning to it, it's just funny.

NO! That CAN'T be the reason!! There must be some DEEP, SIGNIFICANT meaning behind the video! It can't possibly be just that Totalbiscuit has a sense of humor, and felt like putting out a funny video because it amused him and he had some spare time, and thought people might find it funny! That's crazy thinking!

OT: This amused me. It reminds me of Rap Battle Translated.

I know this kind of humour. First heard it from Peter Sellers. I have no idea what it's called if it has a name.

I guess it's the accent or if you find some kind of contradiction that makes it humorous.

It's the same comedy as hearing an extremely 'sophisticated' person start cursing.

Yup, as for the why he went through the trouble my guess is because his recording rig needed to be rebuilt and he did this as sort of a shakedown run. That's my guess though so don't take it as fact.

Well one of the funny things to me, is a bit of synergy between British "slang", and hiphop. Some British modes of speech will sometimes put "what?" at the end of a statement, for no real reason. I think it might be "posh" that does this, but I'm not sure. I do know that Terry Pratchett would make fun of it several times in his books, when he had characters adopting that particular verbal habit. And considering that in the song, Fred actually puts "what?!" at the end of a line, it fits quite well with TB's performance of it.

And now I am reminded of Bill Maher:

Indeed my female sibling, your assessment of the similarities in tone and theme is accurate and poignant to the discussion at hand. *not sure what thing I'm "white translating" there, I'm just running with the mode of speech at this point. xD
